WHAT TO DO BEFORE WRATH OF THE LICH KING RELEASE
PICK YOUR WRATH OF THE LICH KING CLASS MAIN
This may seem obvious, but picking your main early and preparing it will save you a lot of time and work in the long run. So find a class you want to play and start levelling it to 70. Unless you are planning to play a Death Knight, in that case, you want to level any class to 55!
CHOOSE YOUR SERVER/FACTION WISELY
Since the population and faction balance of the servers may change drastically before a new expansion, we recommend doing some research on the server you’re planning to play on beforehand. Trying to find a balance between a populated server and not having to deal with hour-long queues is what you should be aiming for.
GET YOUR MOUNTS IN CHECK
Getting a fast ground mount and a normal flying mount will drastically increase your questing efficiency. You will also need a normal flying mount to unlock some of the level 70 zones.
GET YOUR BAGS IN CHECK
Like mounts, getting your bags upgraded and emptied for a new expansion is always a good idea. Upgrading to bigger bags might cost you a little extra, but it will always be a good investment.
LEVEL UP YOUR PROFESSIONS TO LVL 350 +
Getting your professions ready for the new expansion is always recommended as it’s a good day to stay up to date and make some extra gold as you go. Consider getting some professions alts as well. It might be an excellent way to cut some of the expenses you might need for consumables, enchants etc.
FARM SOME GOLD!
Now, this might be the most important one on the list. Farming gold before the new expansion is highly recommended as a new expansion comes with new expenses, and Wrath of the Lich king can get pricey!
From buying new bags, opening new bank slots, flying, cold weather flying, and dual spec, Wrath of the Lich king, has a high gold requirement.
If you have some gold saved around, it might be a good idea to pick up the Ring of the Kirin Tor, which provides an extra hearthstone to Dalaran!
FIND YOURSELF A GUILD!
Starting a new expansion can be overwhelming, and doing it alone is even more. Consider finding a guild to play with, whether a levelling/social guild or something you can raid with that will make your experience much more enjoyable.
If you feel like you’re well prepared for and ready for the launch, here are some things to do that will no longer be obtainable with the release of the pre-patch.
GET SOME LEVELLING RAID GEAR OR SOME BOES!
Since some of the raids will be removed, getting some levelling gear might be a brilliant idea. It will make levelling a lot easier as well.
Farming some BoE items for your new alts, especially if you are playing a Death Knight, is another thing you could do.
