To get a house in WoW you need any edition of World of Warcraft: Midnight. Claim a plot in your faction's neighborhood: Founder's Point for the Alliance or Razorwind Shores for the Horde. You can join a public neighborhood or a guild one. Without Midnight you can still collect housing decor, but you cannot claim a home or join a neighborhood.

Step by step

  1. Make sure your account has Midnight. Any edition works.
  2. Decide where you want to live. A public neighborhood takes anyone. A guild neighborhood needs a guild with at least 10 members who played in the last 30 days.
  3. Claim your plot in Founder's Point or Razorwind Shores, depending on your faction.
  4. Start decorating in Basic mode. Switch to Advanced mode when you want precise placement.
  5. Join your neighborhood's monthly Endeavors to unlock vendors, decorations and Community Coupons.

Can I get a house without buying Midnight?

No. Without Midnight you can collect housing items, so decor you earn now isn't wasted. Claiming a home and joining a neighborhood both need a Midnight edition.

Public or guild neighborhood: which is better?

A public neighborhood is the quickest option. You can move in right away with whoever else lives there. A guild neighborhood puts you next to people you already play with, which helps with Endeavors since those are shared goals. It needs at least 10 guild members active in the last 30 days. Blizzard has not published how many plots each neighborhood holds.

How do house levels work?

Houses level up to 9. The milestone most players care about is house level 8, which unlocks medium-size exteriors, so you can move up from the starter footprint. Blizzard's housing posts don't list a level-by-level reward table, so we won't guess at one.

What are Endeavors, and where does decor come from?

Endeavors arrived with the pre-expansion update. Each month, residents work on themed tasks together. Finishing them unlocks vendors, decorations and the Community Coupons currency. Early access launched with more than 600 decor items. They came from quests (NPCs in Stormwind, Orgrimmar and Dornogal), professions, achievements and vendors. Every crafting profession can make decor for each expansion's version of that profession, using that expansion's reagents. That gives old herbs, ore, leather and cloth a use again. Raid kills add trophies too. In The Venomous Abyss you get Argent trophies on Raid Finder or Normal, Gleaming on Heroic and Aureate on Mythic.

If you'd rather skip the unlock grind, PewPewShop's Player Housing Setup (Midnight unlocks and decor) starts from EUR 18.99, and our vetted players also help with Midnight leveling, raids or Mythic+ through coaching or play-together sessions.
