The points climb fastest between 1400 and 1900 rating. Above about 2100 the curve is almost flat: 2100 already pays about 98% of the most a bracket can give.

How arena points work in TBC Anniversary

Blizzard noted that the arena formula was changed many times in the original Burning Crusade and in Burning Crusade Classic, to fit season length and the rating requirements on rewards — so an old table from 2007 or 2021 will not match. Source: Kaivax, Blizzard forums, February 18, 2026.

FAQ

How are arena points calculated in TBC Anniversary?
Blizzard posted the formula on February 18, 2026: base points p = ((1651.94 − 475) / (1 + 2,500,000 × e^(−0.009 × rating)) + 475) × 1.5. A 2v2 team then gets 76% of p, 3v3 88% and 5v5 the full p. At 1800 rating that is 1,632 points in 2v2, 1,890 in 3v3 and 2,147 in 5v5.
How many arena games do I need to play for points?
At least 10 games in a bracket during the week. A bracket with fewer than 10 games does not count for that week, whatever its rating.
Do arena points from 2v2, 3v3 and 5v5 stack?
No. Blizzard calculates the points for every bracket where you played 10 games and pays only the highest of them.
When are arena points awarded?
At the start of each week, for what you did in the previous week — with the weekly reset (Tuesday in the Americas, Wednesday in Europe).
How many arena points do you get at 1500 rating?
By the formula: about 845 points in 2v2, 978 in 3v3 and 1,111 in 5v5.
What is the most arena points you can get in a week?
The curve flattens out: about 2,478 in 5v5, 2,181 in 3v3 and 1,883 in 2v2. At 2100 rating you already get about 98–99% of that, so pushing higher earns titles and rating-gated items, not many more points.
What rating do TBC Anniversary arena weapons need?
Blizzard lowered the requirement for PvP weapons to 1700 rating this season (it was 1850), and tuned the formula so a player approaching 1700 earns enough points to afford them.
