As of September 18, 2026, Blizzard has not published an official WoW: Forever talent calculator or Legacy calculator. The beta only opened on September 17, so any build planner has to be built from beta data first. What is already confirmed: talents keep the Classic rows with milestones at 11, 21, 31 and a new 16-point tier (still 51 points max), and the Legacy tree lets each character spend up to 16 account-wide points at launch.

What we actually know about Forever talents and Legacy

  • Talent rows: same layout as Classic; milestone abilities sit at 11, 21 and 31 points, plus a brand-new 16-point milestone in every tree.
  • Talent points: 51 at level 60. The Legacy perk "Talented" starts your points at level 9 instead of 10, but the cap stays 51.
  • Baseline spells: Divine Spirit, Blessing of Kings and Improved Mark of the Wild no longer cost talent points.
  • Design direction: Blizzard says fillers like "+1% to X" are being pushed out in favour of choices that change how a spec plays. All nine Classic classes and every spec were revamped.
  • Published class details: Paladin only (Holy Strike at 6, Seal of Fury for tanking, Twist of Light for Retribution). Nothing else is official yet.
  • Legacy trees: three — Professions, Adventure, Resourcefulness. Points come from Legacy Challenges in six categories (exploring, leveling classes, tradeskills, PvP ranks, reputations, dungeons and raids).
  • Legacy numbers: up to 65 points can be earned; each character spends up to 16 at launch; points are shared across alts but every character allocates them separately. Reward thresholds: 15, 25, 40, 55 points (Replica Ironforge Air Rifle, Spectral Bear Cub, Spectral Bear Tabard, Reins of the Spectral Bear).

Where will the WoW: Forever talent calculator come from?

Historically, every Classic-family talent calculator started as datamined beta files hosted by the big database sites, then got corrected as Blizzard tuned things. Forever should follow the same path: the beta client is live, the level cap starts at 20 and rises to 30, and talent data ships with the client even when you can't reach the higher rows. Expect early planners to be incomplete and to change between beta waves.

The safest sources are Blizzard's official WoW: Forever forum category and the beta itself. Treat leaked or rumor-based "Classic Plus talent calculator" pages from before BlizzCon as fiction — only what Blizzard has shipped or written counts.

What is a Legacy calculator, and do I need one?

A Legacy calculator is just a planner for the account-wide perk tree. Because a character can only place 16 points at launch out of 65 earnable, the interesting decision is which 16, not how to grind more. Known perks include Well Rested (+4% rested XP per rank, higher rested cap), Working Overtime (+4% profession skill-up chance per rank), Bountiful Harvest (more gathering materials), Reinforce (−6% durability loss per rank), Diplomat (+2% reputation per rank), For Great Honor (+2% Honor per rank) and, deep in Resourcefulness, Reagent Economy, which removes reagent costs from class abilities.

Exact rank caps and the full perk list are not published, so any Legacy calculator you find right now is a partial reconstruction of the BlizzCon demo. Plan around categories — leveling alts, professions, PvP — rather than exact point counts until Blizzard confirms them.

Can I plan a Forever build with a Classic talent calculator?

Only as a rough sketch. The row structure matches, but the 16-point milestone, the baseline buffs and the class rework mean a 2019 Classic build will not map one-to-one. For Paladin specifically the published talents (Consecrated Ground, Templar's Bulwark, Instrument of the Law and so on) don't exist in any older calculator. For the other eight classes, wait for beta data instead of guessing.

When should I lock in a build?

Name reservation runs October 27 – November 3 and launch is November 4 at 3 p.m. Pacific. Anything you plan before the beta level cap rises is subject to change, so pick a class and role now, and finalise the point-by-point build in the last week of October when the trees have settled.
