Is a PoE campaign boost worth buying?

It depends entirely on how you value league start time. If you have a build planned, know exactly what you want to farm, and only have a few evenings a week to play, skipping the twelfth replay of Act 5 is a real gain — you spend your limited hours on maps and currency instead.

If you're new to the game, don't. The campaign is where you learn enemy telegraphs, flask timing and how your skill actually scales. Getting handed a level 68 character you don't understand is a bad first league.

How long does the PoE campaign take normally?

Speedrunners do Acts 1-10 in a couple of hours flat, but that's with a memorized route and a build tuned for it. A comfortable, experienced pace is somewhere in the four-to-eight hour range. A newer player exploring, reading quests and dying occasionally can easily double that.

PoE 2's campaign is shorter in act count but denser — bosses hit harder and demand more dodging, so it doesn't automatically finish faster.

What do you still need to do after the campaign?

Plenty. You'll want to pick up any missed quest passive points and skill point rewards, sort your resistances before red maps punish you, and start opening the Atlas. The campaign boost gets you to the starting line of the actual game — it doesn't finish the race.

Does this work the same for PoE 2?

The idea is the same, the content isn't. PoE 2 runs its own act structure and its own endgame Atlas, so a PoE 2 campaign completion is a separate service from PoE 1 — listed from EUR 12. Check which game a listing covers before you buy; they aren't interchangeable.
