Shadowlands transmog is almost entirely soloable now. At level 80 you can walk into Castle Nathria, Sanctum of Domination and Sepulcher of the First Ones on Normal or Heroic and clear them for full tier appearances. Torghast, Maw rares, Covenant campaign sets and Korthia fill the gaps. Only Mythic-only weapon looks and PvP Elite sets are truly off the table.

How to farm it efficiently

  1. Set every Shadowlands raid to Normal, then re-run on Heroic — different difficulties use different colour variants of the same model.
  2. Clear raids once per week per difficulty. Lockouts still apply, so alt characters multiply your loot chances.
  3. Run dungeons on Normal or Heroic for the four dungeon armor variants; Mythic 0 adds another.
  4. Do all four Covenant campaigns across alts if you want every Covenant armor set — the sets are Covenant-locked.
  5. Sweep Maw and Korthia rares on their reset days; several drop unique weapon models that appear nowhere else.

Can you solo Shadowlands raids at level 80?

Yes. Normal and Heroic Castle Nathria, Sanctum of Domination and Sepulcher of the First Ones fall over to a geared level 80 character on most specs. A few fights lean on mechanics rather than damage — Sludgefist's pillar chains and the Remnant of Ner'zhul orbs are the usual stumbling blocks — but they're solvable, not gated.

Mythic difficulty is harder. Some Mythic encounters still punish a solo player with hard mechanic checks, and Mythic-only appearances are the reason most people bring a friend or two.

What Shadowlands transmog is unobtainable now?

The Gladiator elite PvP sets from each Shadowlands season are gone with their seasons, as are the Rated PvP weapon enchant visuals. Mythic raid tier looks still drop, but the Mage Tower-adjacent and time-limited event cosmetics from that expansion are not farmable.

If a piece isn't on your character's appearance list and no vendor sells it, check whether it was season-locked before you spend weeks farming it.

Which Shadowlands sets are worth farming first?

Sepulcher class tier sets are the most-used in modern transmog because they're class-flavoured rather than generic. Sanctum of Domination weapons — especially the Sylvanas bow and the daggers — show up constantly on mog lists. Covenant sets are the sleeper pick: Night Fae and Venthyr armor reads as high fantasy rather than "raid gear", so it mixes well with older pieces.

How long does a full Shadowlands transmog farm take?

Weekly lockouts are the real limit, not difficulty. Clearing all three raids on two difficulties each is one long evening, but full appearance completion — every difficulty variant, every Covenant, every rare drop — realistically runs several months of weekly resets on a single character. Alts cut that down considerably.

If you'd rather have a vetted human player handle the grind while you play the current season, PewPewShop runs legacy appearance work as a service — Legacy Tier Set Farm from EUR 25, Weapon Appearance Hunt from EUR 54, or a Full Transmog Project from EUR 70. Real players, coaching and play-together available, no bots.
