On the WoW: Forever beta (the October 8 build, per Wowhead), Wolfshead Helm no longer gives Energy when you shift into Cat Form. It now gives 5 extra Energy when you use the Feral talent Shifting Power and 5 Rage from Enrage, so classic powershifting is gone. This is a beta change and could still be tuned before the November 4 launch.

Why Blizzard changed it

In Classic, Wolfshead Helm was the heart of powershifting. Feral druids left Cat Form and shifted straight back in to refill Energy, and the helm added a big chunk each time. Forever replaces that loop on purpose. In its Druid class deep dive, Blizzard said Furor no longer gives Energy in Bear Form to stop bear-weaving, and that powershifting now comes back through Shifting Power instead. Tiger's Fury has also been removed. The helm's new effect fits that plan. Its Energy now goes through a talent with a cooldown, so you no longer get it from free shapeshifts.

Is Wolfshead Helm still worth it for Feral in Forever?

For cats, the helm still has value, but less of it. An extra 5 Energy on an 8-second Shifting Power works out to roughly 5 extra Energy every 8 seconds on a long fight. That helps, but it no longer warps a whole rotation the way the Classic version did. For bears, 5 Rage on Enrage is a modest boost when you open a pull. Whether the helm beats other head slots depends on the stats of those items, and Forever's itemization has been heavily reworked.

What is the Feral BiS helm in WoW: Forever?

Nobody can say yet. Blizzard has not published Forever loot tables or dungeon boss lists. It has also re-examined every dungeon drop and added hundreds of new items. Hit and crit are now single stats, and unique boss items are Rare quality. Any Forever BiS list you see before launch is a guess. Wolfshead Helm is a strong candidate while you level and early at 60, but the raid tier that opens on December 9 will decide the endgame answer.

Does powershifting still work in Forever?

Not the Classic way. With the helm no longer paying out on shapeshifts, there is nothing to gain from leaving and re-entering Cat Form. Shifting Power gives you the same burst of Energy for mana, but on a cooldown. Druids can also use potions and most consumables without leaving their form, so you have one less reason to shift out at all.

Where do I get Wolfshead Helm in Forever?

In Classic, Wolfshead Helm was crafted with Leatherworking. Blizzard has not confirmed how you get the recipe, what skill it needs or what level the helm requires in Forever. Before you plan your professions around it, check the item on the beta or wait for launch data.

If you would rather get your druid to 60 and ready for the new dungeons without the grind, PewPewShop's vetted players can play alongside you or coach you through it. Forever Dungeon Leveling starts from EUR 40, and a full 1–60 run starts from EUR 990, queued for the November 4 launch.
