WoW: Forever has 65 Legacy Challenges in six categories, and each one gives one account-wide Legacy Point. Classes has 27, Tradeskills 18, Player vs. Player 12, Adventure 2, Dungeons 3 and Raids 3. At launch each character can spend up to 16 points. Your account's total points also unlock cosmetic rewards on the Legacy Reward Track.

How do you unlock the Legacy system?
It unlocks with your first Legacy Point. For most players that comes from the first character to reach level 25. Reaching 150 in a non-gathering primary tradeskill or exploring the whole world map also does it. Raid points can't be earned before December 9, the date on Blizzard's roadmap when Onyxia's Lair, Hyjal Summit and Barrow Deeps open.
What do you spend Legacy Points on?
You spend them in three perk trees: Professions, Adventure and Resourcefulness. The perks are non-combat. Examples are Working Overtime and Bountiful Harvest for gatherers and crafters, Well Rested and Talented for leveling, and Reinforce, Diplomat and Reagent Economy for upkeep. Points are shared across your alts, but each character spends its own 16. Changing Legacy talents needs a class trainer in a major city.
What do your account's total points unlock?
Every point you earn counts toward the Legacy Reward Track, spent or not; it gives cosmetics with no power advantage. Per Wowhead's interview recaps, the launch rewards are the Replica Ironforge Air Rifle at 15 points, the Spectral Bear Cub pet at 25, the Spectral Bear Tabard at 40 and the Reins of the Spectral Bear mount at 55. You claim them from Innkeeper Wiley in Ratchet. Blizzard says new rewards come with each content update.
Do Hardcore characters count?
Hardcore arrives after launch and has 12 challenges of its own. Challenges you complete in Hardcore also count in the other rulesets, but non-Hardcore progress does not show up in Hardcore.
What is the fastest route to your first 16 points?
Class levels are the easiest points. Taking one character to 60 is worth 3, and alts add more at 25 and 45. Add your tradeskill milestones and the three dungeon-band points, and most players reach the cap without touching PvP ranks or raids. PvP rank 13 and 14 are the slowest points on the list.
If you'd rather have a vetted player help with the dungeon bands or with leveling an alt, PewPewShop's Forever Dungeon Runs start from EUR 12 and Dungeon Leveling from EUR 40. Launch services are queued for November 4.
