WoW: Forever Server Slam — Open Beta Hours for Everyone

A WoW: Forever Server Slam is a short window, planned for later in the beta, when Blizzard opens the Forever beta to everyone for several hours — no Skyborne Epic Pack, no invite needed. Blizzard confirmed it on September 17, 2026, but has not yet announced the date, length or level cap. The regular beta runs September 17 – October 21.

Server Slam vs. regular beta — quick facts

The term comes from the Diablo IV Server Slam, where Blizzard threw the doors open for a weekend to stress-test the login and server infrastructure at scale. For Forever the stated purpose is the same: hammer the systems with real crowds before November 4. It is a stress test first and a free demo second, so expect queues and instability rather than a polished weekend.

How do I get into the WoW: Forever beta without buying a pack?

Two ways. First, opt in: Blizzard is sending invitation waves throughout the beta to players who have signed up for beta testing on their Battle.net account. Waves are not tied to any purchase, but there is no guarantee of a slot. Second, wait for the Server Slam, which is open to everyone for its duration. Both routes cost nothing beyond an existing Battle.net account.

If you want certainty, the Skyborne Epic Pack and the Warcraft Forever Collection include instant beta access. Will my Server Slam character carry over to launch?

Blizzard has not said. Beta progress carrying into the November 4 launch has not been announced for any part of the beta, and standard practice for Blizzard betas is a wipe. Treat anything you play during the Slam as a test drive. What does happen before launch is Early Name Reservation on October 27 – November 3, when pack owners can reserve up to three two-part names (main name plus secondary name, unique per region).

Can my PC run the WoW: Forever beta?

The beta client requires RGBA16F UAV support in compute shaders. In practice that means AMD GCN 1 (2012), NVIDIA Maxwell (2014) or Intel Skylake (2015) graphics or newer. A Radeon HD 7850, GTX 750 Ti, any GTX 9xx or Intel HD 530 will launch the game, though those sit below the minimum spec. A Radeon HD 6950, GTX 760–780, GTX 8xxM or Intel HD 6000 will not. Full system requirements have not been published yet.

What can I actually play during the beta right now?

Week 1 is the new Skyborne race on Zephras Isle (levels 1–12), every zone up to level 20, and two of the nine new dungeons: Hall of Thanes beneath Ironforge and Ruins of Lordaeron. More zones, more dungeons and the new 15v15 Darkspear Islands battleground open later in the beta, alongside the cap rising to 30. Known issues on day one include a barber-chair LUA error, friends list disabled and a Waylaid Crate stacking bug — expect that kind of roughness during the Slam too.
