World of Warcraft reputation runs through eight standings: Hated, Hostile, Unfriendly, Neutral, Friendly, Honored, Revered, and Exalted. Most factions start you at Neutral, and climbing from Neutral to Exalted takes 42,000 reputation points total. Each tier has its own bar to fill. Modern expansions add Renown, a level-style track, and Paragon reputation for rewards past Exalted.

Every WoW Reputation Level in Order

The three tiers below Neutral (Hated, Hostile, Unfriendly) only matter for factions you start on the wrong side of. For almost everything you'll grind, the ladder starts at Neutral and climbs to Exalted.

StandingPoints to fill the barTotal from Neutral
Neutral3,0000 – 3,000
Friendly6,0003,000 – 9,000
Honored12,0009,000 – 21,000
Revered21,00021,000 – 42,000

Below Neutral, the negative standings span a wide range: Hated is the deepest, followed by Hostile and Unfriendly, before you cross into Neutral. You rarely deal with these unless a quest chain or faction choice pushes you into hostile territory.

What is the highest reputation level in WoW?

Exalted is the top of the classic eight-tier system. Once you hit Exalted you unlock that faction's full vendor: mounts, tabards, recipes, and cosmetics. Since Legion, many factions also offer Paragon reputation, so every additional bar you fill past Exalted awards a bonus cache with a chance at rare mounts or pets.

What is Renown and how is it different?

Starting in Shadowlands, Blizzard shifted major factions to Renown, a numbered leveling track (Renown 1, 2, 3, and up) instead of named standings. Each Renown level unlocks specific rewards along the way, so progress feels more like leveling than filling one long bar. Dragonflight and later expansions use Renown for most of their headline factions.

How do you gain reputation fast?

Stack rep sources: daily and weekly quests, world quests tied to the faction, one-time quest chains, and reputation tokens turned in at the vendor. Many older factions had tabards that granted rep from dungeon kills. Buffs like the Darkmoon Faire's WHEE! and human racial Diplomacy add a small percentage bonus that adds up over a long grind.

Reputation grinds are some of the longest time-sinks in WoW, and a few Exalted or Renown goals can eat weeks of dailies. If you'd rather skip the repetition, PewPewShop's vetted pro players can coach you through the most efficient routes or handle the grind alongside you, so the mount or recipe lands without the burnout.
