The Swift Zulian Tiger is a removed mount — it has not dropped in retail WoW since Cataclysm deleted the 20-player Zul'Gurub raid in late 2010. No modern retail boost can farm it there. Your only retail shot is a Black Market Auction House appearance; on Classic-era realms Thekal still drops it, and that farm is real.
That distinction matters more than anything else on this page. "Zul'Gurub mount farm" means two completely different products depending on which game you're playing.
| Mount | Original source | Farmable today? |
| Swift Zulian Tiger | High Priest Thekal, ZG (20-player raid) | Retail: no. Classic-era realms: yes |
| Swift Razzashi Raptor | Bloodlord Mandokir, ZG (20-player raid) | Retail: no. Classic-era realms: yes |
| Cataclysm ZG 5-player mounts | Rebuilt Zul'Gurub dungeon (patch 4.1) | No — pulled again in Mists of Pandaria |
| Ashes of Al'ar | Kael'thas Sunstrider, Tempest Keep | Yes, weekly |
| Invincible's Reins | Lich King, 25 Heroic | Yes, weekly |
| Mimiron's Head | Yogg-Saron with no Keepers | Yes, weekly |
Why did the Swift Zulian Tiger disappear?
Cataclysm rebuilt Azeroth, and old Zul'Gurub went with it. The raid was cut, the tiger and raptor stopped dropping, and both became legacy items carried only by players who ran the place on a three-day lockout for years. Blizzard later rebuilt Zul'Gurub as a five-player dungeon with new mount drops, then removed those too when Mists of Pandaria landed.
It has since surfaced on the Black Market Auction House, which rotates rare removed items into a gold-only bidding pool. That's a lottery on stock, not something a farm can force.
Can I still farm Zul'Gurub mounts in WoW Classic?
Yes. On Classic-era and Classic progression realms where Zul'Gurub is live content, Thekal and Mandokir still hold the tiger and raptor, and the drop rate is the same brutal fraction it always was. This is where a genuine repeat-clear farm makes sense: same raid, short lockout, dozens of attempts stacked up over weeks.
So if you're shopping, ask one question first: which realm type is this for? A Classic Zul'Gurub farm and a retail collection service are not the same order.
Which legacy mount farms are actually worth paying for?
The ones still in the game with a low drop chance and a weekly lockout — Ashes of Al'ar, Invincible's Reins, Mimiron's Head, Raven Lord, Blue Proto-Drake. These are pure attempt-count problems. Nothing about them is hard for a competent 80-plus character; the wall is showing up every single week for months without skipping.
That's exactly the kind of grind people hand off. Famous Mount Farm starts at EUR 43, and a broader Collector Mount Meta package starts at EUR 60 if you want several targets tracked at once instead of one.
How long does a legacy mount farm take?
Plan in months, not days. One lockout per week per character means the honest answer for any sub-1% legacy drop is "however long the RNG wants," and any promise of a fixed date on a random drop is worth a hard look. Farms priced by attempts and weeks are the ones that hold up.
If you'd rather not set a weekly alarm for the next six months, PewPewShop runs these farms with vetted human players — no bots, no cheats, long clean record — as straight progression help or rent-a-pro sessions you can join. Famous Mount Farm from EUR 43, Collector Mount Meta from EUR 60, Mage Tower Mount & Skins from EUR 59. And if a mount genuinely can't drop on your realm type, we'll tell you that instead of selling you a farm for it.
