Cloak of the Divine Storm is the reward for a Paladin quest chain in WoW: Forever, brought back from Season of Discovery's Divine Storm chain. On the beta it starts at the Strange Orb on top of the Tower of Althalaxx in Darkshore. It runs through Ashenvale, Stormwind, Redridge and Demon Fall Canyon, and right now only Alliance Paladins can finish it.
The quest chain, step by step
This is the route as Wowhead reported it from the beta on October 10, 2026. Quest names and steps can still change before launch on November 4.
Beta progress is temporary: beta gold is wiped on October 21. Launch gold has its own card. Launch gold (from November 4) · All Forever services
- A Strange Artifact: click the Strange Orb at the top of the Tower of Althalaxx in Darkshore.
- Advice From Stormwind: take the orb to Delgren the Purifier in Ashenvale. He sends you to the capital.
- A Second Opinion: speak to Katherine the Pure in Stormwind.
- Earning Your Salt: Ursula Deline in Stormwind's Mage Quarter wants 14 Summoner's Salt. Blackrock orcs in Redridge Mountains drop it.
- It Must Be Destroyed: also from Ursula. Collect 12 Mote of Mannoroth in Demon Fall Canyon (Ashenvale), then deal with the Spear of Mannoroth.
- Return to Delgren: hand in to Delgren the Purifier in Ashenvale and pick up Cloak of the Divine Storm.

Can Horde Paladins get Cloak of the Divine Storm?
Not at the moment. Forever adds the Undead (Forsaken) Paladin, but on the beta the chain can only be completed by Alliance characters. Blizzard has said faction content does not always need a 1:1 match. A Horde version has not been announced. If you play a Forsaken Paladin, don't plan your leveling around this cloak until Blizzard says more.
Is this the same as Season of Discovery's Divine Storm quest?
It's the same chain, with a different reward. In Season of Discovery the Strange Orb chain was a Paladin rune quest. In Forever it ends in a cloak named after the ability. Forever's Paladin has its own reworked kit, so don't assume the SoD rune comes with it. The cloak's stats and level requirement haven't been published in a form we can confirm. Check the tooltip in game rather than trusting old SoD guides.
What level should you be to do it?
Blizzard hasn't listed an official level for the chain. In practice, the deciding step is farming Blackrock orcs in Redridge and the demons of Demon Fall Canyon, which are low-to-mid level areas. The beta is capped at level 30, so testers can already run the whole chain. Bring a friend if the Redridge orcs give you trouble, because quest-item drops in Forever are shared out more evenly within a group.
Where exactly is the Strange Orb at Althalaxx?
Look at the very top of the Tower of Althalaxx in Darkshore, in the north of the zone. Climb all the way up and click the orb to get A Strange Artifact.
If you'd rather spend your evenings on raids than on the slow climb to 30, PewPewShop's vetted human players can help with progression. Forever Leveling 1–30 starts from EUR 42, and beta leveling to the current cap starts from EUR 14. The cloak chain itself is a nice short run to do yourself.
