Unlocking Vulpera takes most Horde players about 3–5 hours of play. The only real gate is finishing the Vol'dun zone storyline in Zandalar (the Secrets in the Sands achievement), then a short recruitment quest chain from the Orgrimmar Embassy that runs 20–30 minutes. The old Exalted-with-Voldunai reputation requirement was removed years ago, so there is no rep farm anymore — just the story.

Step-by-step: how to unlock Vulpera
- Get a Horde character into Zandalar. A max-level character is fastest. A lower-level character can pick Battle for Azeroth in Chromie Time and follow the intro to Zuldazar.
- Fly to Vol'dun (the desert zone in the north-west of Zandalar) and start the zone story with the vulpera caravans.
- Finish every chapter of the Vol'dun storyline. Your progress is tracked under the Secrets in the Sands achievement; when it pops, the hard part is done. Skip side quests — only the main story chapters count.
- Return to the Orgrimmar Embassy and pick up the Vulpera recruitment quest. It sends you back to Vol'dun for a short chain and a scenario, about half an hour.
- Create your Vulpera. The race appears at character creation immediately after the final turn-in, starting at level 10.
What is the fastest way to unlock Vulpera?
Do the Vol'dun story on your highest-level character. At max level the mobs die instantly, so the whole thing is really a travel-and-turn-in exercise — roughly 2–3 hours if you know the routes and skip every side quest. Keep a flying mount handy; Zandalar flying is unlocked for everyone now, and it shaves a lot of walking off the desert.
If your only Horde character is low level, expect the upper end of the range. Vol'dun scales to you in Chromie Time, but you will be fighting for real instead of steamrolling.
Do I still need Voldunai reputation for Vulpera?
No. Vulpera launched in early 2020 with an Exalted Voldunai requirement, but that was stripped out when Shadowlands reworked the allied-race unlocks. Today the game checks only for the Secrets in the Sands achievement and completion of the embassy recruitment quests. If an old guide tells you to farm World Quests or emissaries for Voldunai, ignore it.
Can I get the Vulpera heritage armor, and how long does that take?
Yes. The Vulpera heritage armor is a cosmetic set earned by leveling a Vulpera from 10 to 50 by playing — a boost token or race change disqualifies that character. Leveling 10–50 is a separate time investment on top of the unlock: with Chromie Time and a couple of dungeon runs it is usually a handful of evenings. Once earned, the transmog is account-wide for all your Vulpera.
What are the Vulpera racial traits?
Bag of Tricks is a low-cooldown damage or heal ability you can swap between targets. Make Camp lets you set a personal camp anywhere and hearth back to it, which is a genuine second hearthstone. Nocturnal reduces damage taken from Beasts. Alpaca Saddlebags gives extra bag space, and Rummage Your Bag rerolls Bag of Tricks. Vulpera can play most Horde classes, including Rogue, Hunter, Mage, Warlock, Priest, Shaman, Warrior and Monk.
