WoW raid lockouts reset once a week: Tuesday morning on North American realms and Wednesday morning on European realms — roughly 8 a.m. server time in the US and around 4 a.m. realm time in the EU. The one rule people get wrong: the schedule follows your realm's region, not the clock on your wall. An EU player living in Brazil still resets on the EU Wednesday. An Oceanic player is on the NA schedule, which lands mid-morning Wednesday local time.

Can I kill the same raid boss twice in one week?
For loot, no. Normal and Heroic use a per-boss lockout: once a boss drops loot for you, you can join another group and fight it again for the kill or the achievement, but you won't be eligible for loot from it again until reset.
Mythic works differently — it uses a shared instance ID. Once you zone into a Mythic raid ID and bosses die, you're tied to that ID's progress for the week, which is why Mythic groups care so much about who is "saved" and who isn't.
Do old raids reset weekly too?
Yes. Legacy raids from previous expansions run on the same weekly clock, so a mount farm like a classic-era boss is one roll per character per week. This is exactly why mount hunters keep a stable of alts: five characters means five chances at the same drop in a single week.
What time should I log in on reset day?
Give it a buffer. The rollover isn't instant across every realm and the servers are busiest in the first hour, so most raiders wait until the reset has clearly landed rather than sitting in the instance as the clock ticks over. If you're mid-pull when the reset hits, finish the fight — the lockout applies when you next try to save.
Does the reset help or hurt my progress?
Both. It's a fresh shot at every drop you missed, but it's also a hard ceiling: miss your raid night and that week's loot chances are simply gone. Guilds schedule around it for that reason, usually raiding in the first few days after reset so there's time for a make-up night.
