What to do right now
- Keep the quests in your log. Blizzard hasn't said whether abandoning them helps or hurts, so don't gamble on it.
- Don't spend extra lockouts trying to force the kill credit again. Nothing official says another Kith'ix kill fixes the step.
- Check after hotfixes and the next weekly reset. Blizzard often fixes quest blockers in a hotfix rather than waiting for a patch.
- Watch Blizzard's 12.1.5 known-issues post. When the fix lands, it will show up there or in the hotfix notes.
Is it just me, or is everyone stuck?
It's widespread. Blizzard listed it as a post-raid campaign issue, which means it isn't tied to your character, class or realm. If you killed Kith'ix and the quest step won't finish, you're seeing the known bug, not a mistake on your end.
Does this block the rest of 12.1.5?
Nothing indicates that it does. The Kith'ix raid itself, Aqir Invasions, the Keystone Myth push and the mid-season refresh quests ("Ancient Depths, Ancient Venom" this week) are separate from the campaign. Players are also reporting Labyrinth of Kindo'jan runs that stop progressing and have to be restarted; Blizzard has not acknowledged that one yet. You can keep progressing and come back to the campaign once it's patched.
Where does Kith'ix fit in?
The Unbinding of Kith'ix is the new single-boss raid hidden beneath The Venomous Abyss. You fight the C'Thraxxi general with Lady Liadrin at your side, on Story Mode, Raid Finder, Normal, Heroic or Mythic. Mythic uses a flexible group of 15 to 25 players. Liquid got the first Mythic kill on October 13. Loot tables and item levels haven't been officially confirmed yet.
Are there other quest bugs in 12.1.5?
Yes, one more on Blizzard's known-issues list: Battle for Azeroth War Campaign breadcrumb quests may pop up on characters after their Legion and BfA reputations were converted to warband-wide. That one is harmless and isn't related to the Kith'ix campaign.
