"WoW gold level boost" is two different purchases, not one. Gold has one route Blizzard sanctions: buy a WoW Token with real money and sell it on the Auction House for whatever gold it fetches that hour. The confusion is understandable. Blizzard's shop sells one thing called a boost, the community calls a carry a boost, and gold sellers use the word too. Three meanings, one search box.

Buying gold from a third-party seller violates the Terms of Service, and Blizzard does act on it. The WoW Token exists precisely so there is a legal path: you pay Blizzard, list the Token, and the gold comes from another player who wanted game time. Same outcome, no rule broken.
The catch is price. The Token's gold value floats with demand, so what you get for one purchase this week may be noticeably different next week. Check the in-game Token price before you commit.
Does a character boost give you gold?
No. Blizzard's Character Boost hands you a character at the cap of the previous expansion with basic gear, a few bags and starter consumables. Your bank account looks the same as before. That surprises a lot of people who assumed the two came bundled.
It also does not close the gap to current content. After the boost you still play the remaining levels to today's cap, and your item level starts near the bottom of the current gearing curve.
Boost or level manually — which is actually worth it?
Boost if the character is an alt for a class you already know, or if you are returning mid-expansion and the goal is to be raiding this week rather than next month. Level manually if it is your first character, because the leveling path teaches your rotation and the zones you will farm in later.
The honest middle ground: a played leveling service, from EUR 18.4, where a human actually runs the content instead of a shop button skipping it. You end up with a character that has quest progress and reputation, not a blank slate.
What is the fastest way to make gold once you are max level?
Professions remain the steadiest earner — pick two that feed the current raid or season and sell into the Auction House on raid nights. Weekly world content, older-expansion farming runs and transmog flipping fill the gaps. None of it is instant, but it compounds, and no rule risk attaches to it.
