A legacy raid boost is a run through an old-expansion raid — Ulduar, Firelands, Throne of Thunder, Antorus and friends — done for mounts, transmog and achievements, not for gear. Nearly all of it is soloable at current max level. What you are actually buying is the calendar: mount drops are locked to one attempt per week, and a single mount can take years of resets.
Quick facts
- Difficulty is not the problem. A max-level character walks through most raids up through Legion solo. Time is the problem.
- Mounts are weekly-locked. One roll per raid, per week, per character. Multiple characters multiply the rolls — that is why farms are run on alts.
- Drop rates are brutal. The famous ones (Mimiron's Head, Invincible's Reins, Ashes of Al'ar) sit around a 1% chance per attempt. Expect years, not weeks, on a single toon.
- Some raids still bite. Mythic Antorus and Mythic Uldir-era mechanics can wall a solo player depending on class and gear.
- Transmog is account-wide-ish. Old tier sets are usually the real reason people go back, and those drop far more freely than mounts.
- Our Legacy Raid Mount Farm starts from EUR 26. Current-tier work is priced separately — Normal Raid Full Clear from EUR 25, Heroic Raid Full Clear from EUR 55.
Can you solo legacy raids in WoW?
Yes, for the large majority. Anything from Classic through Legion falls over to a geared max-level character on Normal or Heroic; Mythic difficulty from Legion onward is where it gets uneven, and a few fights use mechanics that simply need more than one body.
The realistic ceiling depends on your class more than your item level. Self-healing specs and pet classes clear things that a squishy caster cannot. If a boss is killing you, it is usually a mechanic check, not a damage check.
Why do people pay for old raid carries at all?
Because the reward is decided by a weekly dice roll. Farming Ashes of Al'ar yourself means logging in every week, clearing Tempest Keep, seeing nothing, and doing it again — potentially for several years. A farm service runs those resets consistently, across characters, without you having to remember.
The second reason is achievements. Long meta-achievements from old expansions require full, ordered clears in specific conditions, and getting a group of friends to care about a decade-old raid is harder than clearing it.
What is the difference between a legacy farm and a current raid boost?
A legacy farm is about rare cosmetics and takes many weeks by design. A current-tier boost is about progression right now — loot, difficulty clears, seasonal titles. They cost differently for that reason: Legacy Raid Mount Farm starts from EUR 26, while Mythic Raid Full Clear on current content starts from EUR 180 and Mythic Cutting Edge from EUR 280.
Is a legacy raid boost worth it?
It is worth it when the thing you want is time-gated rather than skill-gated — which describes almost every legacy mount. It is not worth it if you only want the transmog: appearance drops are common enough that two or three of your own runs will usually get there.
If you would rather not run the resets yourself
PewPewShop handles legacy farms with vetted human players — no bots, no cheats, a long clean record — and we are equally happy to just coach you through the fights that are blocking your solo attempts. Legacy Raid Mount Farm starts from EUR 26; if you also want current content handled, Weekly Raid Farm starts from EUR 130 and a Raid Single Boss Kill from EUR 9. Ask us what is realistically farmable before you buy anything — sometimes the honest answer is that you can do it yourself in an afternoon.
