Buying a Mythic raid carry with in-game gold is possible, but only through player-run communities and cross-realm gold runs — Blizzard sells no carries itself. Gold trades are legal inside the game as long as nobody touches your account. The catch: gold-only Mythic carries are rare, expensive and completely unprotected. If the run fails or the group disbands, there is no refund and no arbitration.
How a gold Mythic carry actually works
- Where it happens: large cross-realm carry communities advertise in trade chat, in-game group finder and community Discords — never through an official Blizzard storefront.
- What you pay in: in-game gold, traded in person, usually split between an upfront deposit and the balance after the kill.
- Why Mythic is different: Mythic raiding is fixed-size and requires the whole group to be in the same raid lockout, so sellers can only take a carry passenger on a boss their roster is already clearing comfortably. Early-tier Mythic bosses are almost never sold; late-tier farm bosses are.
- The lockout rule: if you have already killed that boss on Mythic that week, you cannot be carried on it again until reset. Sellers will ask about your lockout first.
- Protection: none. Gold trades between players carry no Blizzard guarantee. A failed run, a no-show group, or a scammed deposit is not something support restores.
Is buying a raid carry for gold bannable?
Trading in-game gold between players for services is a normal part of the game economy and is not, in itself, a bannable action. What gets accounts actioned is everything around it: buying gold from third parties with real money, and anything that involves someone else logging into your account. Keep it to a straight in-game gold trade for a run you play yourself and you stay inside the rules.
How much gold does a Mythic carry cost?
There is no fixed rate. Prices are set by the sellers and move constantly with tier progress, token price and how many groups are farming that boss. A single late-tier Mythic boss costs a fraction of a full clear, and prices drop sharply once a raid tier is old. Ask two or three communities on the same day before committing — quotes for the same boss vary widely.
Why do so few groups sell Mythic for gold?
Because gold is worth less to a Mythic-capable roster than their time. Twenty players have to hold a lockout, coordinate a night, and carry a passenger through mechanics that can wipe the raid. Most established groups would rather run Heroic sales, which are faster and safer, or sell nothing at all. That scarcity is exactly why gold quotes for Mythic climb so hard mid-tier.
