Undermine is the goblin city zone added in The War Within's 11.1 patch, and the only things there worth paying help for are the long-grind rewards: full Renown with the three cartels, the Rocket-Racing time trials, and the Undermine raid on Heroic or Mythic. Everything else — the campaign, world quests, basic delves — is fast enough to clear yourself in a few evenings.
So when people search "wow undermine boost" they're usually after one of four very different things. Sorting out which one you actually want saves you from buying the wrong package.
What people mean by "Undermine boost"
- Raid clear — the Undermine raid, run on Normal, Heroic or Mythic. Heroic is the usual sweet spot: real gear, no guild required.
- Cartel Renown — reputation with the goblin cartels running the city. This is the true time sink of the patch: weekly caps, daily loops, and cosmetic and mount rewards gated behind the higher tiers.
- Rocket racing — the driving/racing minigame with tiered medal times. Gold-tier times take real practice, and the rewards are locked behind them.
- Campaign + zone unlocks — the story chain that opens the zone's systems. Short, and honestly the part you should just play.
What's worth outside help, ranked
| Content | Grind level | Worth help? |
| Mythic raid progression | Very high | Yes — hardest gate in the patch |
| Heroic raid clear | High | Yes — best gear-per-hour |
| Max cartel Renown | High (weeks of dailies) | Yes, if you want the locked rewards |
| Racing gold/perfect times | Medium-high skill | Coaching beats a carry here |
| Zone campaign | Low | No — play it, it's short |
| World quests / rares | Low | No |
Is the Undermine raid worth boosting instead of pugging?
Depends on your item level. If you're already close to the raid's entry gear, Normal and Heroic pugs on the group finder will get you through — slowly, with some wipes and a few groups that fall apart.
If you're undergeared, playing a class pugs don't invite, or on a schedule that doesn't fit a guild's raid nights, that's where a run with a coordinated group actually saves you weeks. Mythic is the clearest case: it needs a rehearsed roster, and no pug reliably produces one.
Can I get Undermine Renown faster on my own?
Yes, partly. Do the weekly cartel activities before the daily filler — the weeklies carry most of the Renown. Stack any reputation buff you have active, keep your alts working the same cartels if the account shares progress, and don't skip the one-time story chunks that hand you several levels at once.
Even done efficiently, maxing all cartels is a multi-week commitment. That's the honest math, and it's why this is the most commonly requested Undermine service.
What gear does Undermine content actually drop?
The raid is the top source, scaling up by difficulty, with the highest track coming off Mythic. Delves and the zone's outdoor content feed you a lower but steady stream that's fine for catching up an alt or filling empty slots before you step into the raid. If your goal is a specific item level target, the raid is the efficient route and everything else is padding.
Do I need the campaign done before anything else?
Broadly yes — the zone's systems, cartel reputations and repeatable content unlock through the story. It's a couple of evenings at most, it's genuinely one of the better-written zones in recent memory, and skipping it just leaves you locked out of the things you were trying to reach.
The quick decision
- Finish the campaign yourself — it's the key to everything else.
- Check your item level against raid entry. Short? Farm delves and outdoor content for a week.
- Want raid gear on a schedule? That's where a coordinated run earns its keep.
- Want the Renown-locked mounts and cosmetics? Decide whether weeks of dailies is time you'd rather spend elsewhere.
- Want the racing rewards? Ask for coaching, not a carry — the times are yours to beat.
