The mounts, pets, toy and transmog sets datamined from the October 15 WoW: Forever beta build, including the Spectral Wolf Pack, Crimson Rooster, Verdant Sea Turtle and Blossoming Ancient, are not Forever content. In a blue post quoted by Wowhead, Blizzard said these assets are not intended for this version of World of Warcraft, so treat them as files only.

Quick facts

  • Where the leak came from: dataminers decrypted assets through tactkeys in the October 15 beta build (per Wowhead).
  • Named finds: Spectral Wolf Pack, Crimson Rooster, Verdant Sea Turtle, Blossoming Ancient and others, covering mounts, pets, a toy and transmog sets.
  • Blizzard's answer: these assets are not meant for this version of World of Warcraft.
  • Earlier datamine: in the first beta week Wowhead counted 37 new mounts in the files. Those were datamined and not final, so they don't count as confirmed rewards either.
  • Launch: November 4, 2026, 3 p.m. Pacific. The beta ends October 21.

Is the Spectral Wolf Pack the same thing as the Spectral Bear?

No. The name is similar, but the Spectral Bear set (Spectral Bear Cub pet, Spectral Bear Tabard, Reins of the Spectral Bear) is an official Legacy reward that Blizzard published. The Spectral Wolf Pack is one of the datamined assets Blizzard says are not intended for Forever. Don't plan around the wolf.

What about the Blademaster set?

We can't confirm from Blizzard's posts or the beta reports that a "Blademaster" transmog set is part of Forever. Blizzard's statement covers the transmog sets found in the October 15 files. So if you saw a Blademaster set in a datamine thread, treat it as unconfirmed for Forever, not as a launch reward. Earlier beta files held a different kind of set, tied to Forever dungeons and carrying set bonuses, like Defias Enforcer's Garb (Deadmines), Violet Sorcerer's Vestments (City of Dalaran) and Krol'dok Battlegear. Those come from the beta files and may still change.

Which pets are confirmed?

On the beta: Baby Crocolisk from the Sewer Beast in the Stormwind Canals, the Excitable Slime in Undercity (buy a Nutritious Slime Sludge from Boyle, /dance at the slime, hand it the sludge) and the Musical Gustjumper on Zephras Isle (/sing at the frogs at the top of the waterfall south of Thendal Village). The Spectral Bear Cub comes from Legacy at 25 points. Spawn of Grubthor was datamined earlier and is still unconfirmed.

Why would assets be in the files if they aren't for Forever?

Blizzard didn't explain why the files are there. All it said is that these assets are not intended for this version of the game. Anything beyond that, such as the cosmetics going to another WoW version, is guesswork. Collections in Forever only show what you've already collected, so expect the real rewards to be found after launch rather than in datamines.
