A full set of Conquest gear costs roughly 14,000 to 15,000 Conquest in recent seasons, weapons included. The three big armor slots (helm, chest, legs) are the priciest at about 1,600 each, smaller slots run cheaper, and a two-handed weapon costs about double a one-hander. At the weekly cap, that works out to roughly 8 to 10 weeks of capping every single week.

How the weekly cap adds up

  • The cap is cumulative: it opens at around 1,350 in week one and grows by roughly 550 each week after that. The number you see is the total you can have earned since the season began, not a fresh weekly allowance.
  • Miss a week and nothing is lost. The gap simply stays open until you fill it, which is why late starters can catch up in a couple of heavy play sessions.
  • Conquest comes from rated wins (2v2, 3v3, RBG, Solo Shuffle rounds), the weekly PvP quests, and the first-win bonuses in each bracket. Weekly quests are the cheapest Conquest per minute of playtime.
  • Late in the season the cap is removed entirely, so anyone who queues enough can finish the set in a rush.

What should I buy first?

Weapon first, almost always. It is the biggest single damage or healing upgrade in the set and it costs the same whether you buy it in week one or week six. After that, take the helm, chest and legs: they carry the most stat budget per slot, and if your spec's set bonus lives on those pieces it unlocks the two-piece bonus quickest.

Leave rings, wrists and the cloak for last. They are cheap, low impact, and easy to fill in once the expensive slots are done.

How many weeks does a full set take?

If you hit the cap every week from the opening day, expect to finish the set somewhere between weeks 8 and 10, depending on whether you use a two-hander and how many trinkets and rings you swap in. Most players do not cap every week, so a realistic timeline for a casual PvPer is closer to the season's midpoint, and then the cap-removal window near the end mops up the rest.

Does Conquest gear need rating to be useful?

No. Conquest gear buys at its base item level with zero rating requirement, and in PvP combat it scales to the maximum PvP item level regardless of what your character sheet shows. Rating matters for two things only: the cosmetic Elite appearance tied to 1800, and the extra upgrade tracks on top of the base piece. For the actual arena or battleground fight, a fresh 0-rated character in full Conquest is on even footing.

Can I get a full set faster than the cap allows?

Not while the cap is active. It is a hard ceiling on earned Conquest, and no source (weekly quests, wins, bonus events) pushes past it. The only way to hold a complete set earlier is to have capped from week one without skipping. If you started late, the catch-up math still favours you: the cumulative cap means you can earn several weeks' worth in a single weekend of queues.
