The Conquest cap in The War Within is cumulative and rises by a fixed amount at every weekly reset, and it is fully retroactive — missed weeks are not lost. Skip a month and the ceiling you can farm has still been climbing the whole time, so a late starter can catch all of it back in one sitting instead of being permanently behind the pack.

That single rule is what most people are actually asking about when they search for a conquest cap schedule. There is no punishment for a slow week. There is only a ceiling that keeps moving up while you are away.

What happens when I hit the cap mid-week?

Nothing breaks. Your queues keep working, rating keeps moving, honor keeps flowing, and the vendor gear you already bought keeps upgrading. The Conquest counter alone freezes until the next reset bumps the ceiling.

Practically, that means the smart play once you are capped is to switch goals: push rating, farm honor for off-pieces, or run the modes you are worst at while nothing is on the line.

Do I lose Conquest if I skip a wow conquest cap week?

No. This is the part people get wrong most often. The cap is a running total for the season, not a per-week allowance that expires. If you were gone for three resets, the number the game will let you earn is simply three increments higher when you come back.

The only thing you genuinely lose by waiting is time — gear you could have been wearing during those weeks, and the upgrade currency that comes with playing.

Is the cap ever removed?

In past seasons Blizzard has lifted the Conquest cap during the final stretch, once the gear ladder no longer needed pacing. Treat that as a historical pattern rather than a promise for any specific date, and check the current season's patch notes before planning around it.

How much Conquest does a full set cost?

Blizzard prices each armour slot separately and re-tunes those costs season to season, so read the vendor tooltip rather than trusting an old guide. What stays true: early in a season the cap, not the vendor, is your bottleneck. Later on, the vendor is.

How to plan your week

  1. Open the PvP tab and read the Conquest bar — earned on the left, current cap on the right.
  2. Clear the weekly PvP quest first; it is guaranteed Conquest with no rating risk.
  3. Queue whichever rated mode you actually enjoy — Solo Shuffle and Blitz need no premade group.
  4. Spend on your weakest slots first, not on set-piece aesthetics.
  5. Once capped, stop chasing Conquest and push rating instead.
