Battleground Blitz achievements are rating achievements — you earn them by pushing personal rating in the 8v8 Blitz bracket, not by capping flags or racking up kills. The ladder runs from Combatant I at 1000 rating up to Elite at 2400, each one stamped with the current season. There is no separate objective grind.

These are the same thresholds used across rated PvP, but the Blitz bracket tracks its own rating and its own matchmaking rating, so progress in arena or 10v10 rated battlegrounds does nothing for your Blitz row.

- Queue Blitz once you have a usable PvP set — early games at 0 rating are a gear check as much as a skill check.
- Win games. Rating is the only currency here; the achievement fires the moment your personal rating touches the threshold, and it stays even if you drop back down.
- Check the PvP tab of your achievement pane, not the general battleground category — the tiers are filed under the current season, so last season's Rival II sits in a different row.
Do Blitz achievements count toward Gladiator?
No. Gladiator and its mount are tied to 3v3 arena, and no amount of Blitz rating substitutes for it. Blitz gets its own tier achievements and its own end-of-season title at the top of the ladder.
If a mount is the goal, arena is the bracket. If a title and a clean achievement row are the goal, Blitz is far cheaper on nerves — you never have to find two teammates who can play at the same time.
Do the classic battleground achievements unlock in Blitz?
Blitz runs shortened, modified versions of familiar maps, so the old map-specific feats — long flag-carry chains, full-map objective sweeps, tower defence achievements — are not something to farm here. Do those in the unrated and epic battleground queues where the maps play out at full length.
Do Blitz achievements reset every season?
The achievements themselves stay on your record permanently. What resets is your rating, which drops back to the starting point when a new season opens, so the tier achievements are re-earnable and are labelled with the season you got them in. Titles are the same story: the season's title is granted for that season's performance.
What rating should I actually aim for?
1800 (Rival I) is the practical target for most players — it clears the mid-tier achievements, and in modern seasons it is where the meaningful gear upgrade thresholds sit. 2100 Duelist is the real skill wall. 2400 Elite is a small slice of the ladder and usually means a main-spec, meta-friendly class played well.
