You buy a WoW Token with real money from the in-game Shop, not the Auction House. Open the Shop from the micro-menu (or Esc > Shop), select the Token, and pay through your Battle.net account. To buy one with gold instead, go to the Auction House and use the Token tab — that's the gold-side purchase, and it's a separate flow entirely.
The two ways to "buy" a Token — don't mix them up
| What you pay with | Where you buy it | What you get |
| Real money | In-game Shop (or the Battle.net desktop app shop) | A Token in your inventory you can use or list for gold |
| Gold | Auction House > Token tab | A Token you redeem for game time or Battle.net Balance |
Buying a Token with real money, step by step
- Log in on any character and open the Shop from the micro-menu at the bottom of your screen (Esc > Shop also works).
- Find the WoW Token entry in the Shop's list.
- Confirm the purchase with your Battle.net payment method. A parental lock or a recently changed payment method can block this — fix it on the Battle.net site first.
- The Token lands in your bags. From there you either right-click it to redeem game time, or list it at the Auction House for gold.
Selling that Token for gold
- Visit any Auction House and open the Token tab.
- The price is set by Blizzard's own supply-and-demand system — you don't undercut anyone, and you can't set your own price.
- List it. The sale is guaranteed at the shown price, but it isn't instant; the gold arrives by in-game mail once the Token sells.
Why is the Shop button greyed out or missing?
The usual culprits: a trial/starter account, a recently added payment method still in its holding period, an active parental control, or a region where Tokens aren't sold. Check your Battle.net account settings before assuming it's a game bug.
Can I buy a Token with gold if I'm short?
No partial payment exists. The Auction House Token tab needs the full gold price sitting in your bags on that character — Warband/warbank gold isn't automatically pulled in, so move it over first. If you're short, the Token simply won't purchase.
How long until my gold arrives?
Real-money Tokens listed for gold sell on a queue, not instantly. Most clear quickly when demand is normal, but it can take longer on a quiet day. The gold comes by mail, so check your mailbox rather than your bags.
Is a Token the fastest way to fund a boost or repairs?
It's the safest way to convert money into gold, yes — it's Blizzard's own system, so there's no risk attached. What it doesn't do is play the game for you. A Token buys consumables, repairs and Auction House gear; it doesn't get you a key timed or a boss down.
Where PewPewShop fits
If the reason you're converting money to gold is really "I want to progress faster," a Token is an indirect route. PewPewShop pairs you with vetted human players — no bots, no cheats, a long clean record — for coaching and play-together runs where you learn the pull, the route and the cooldowns while clearing the content. We do the same across games: Diablo 4 Endgame Bundle (Pit, Ubers, Glyphs) from EUR 71.25, PoE2 Endgame Pack from EUR 66, LoL Placement Games from EUR 20. If you'd rather have a pro in the group than a bag of gold, that's the door.
