Spark of Radiance is Midnight's crafting spark, and you assemble one from two spark fragments — the fragments are what actually drop. They come from weekly endgame play: raid bosses, Mythic+ dungeons, Delves and the outdoor weekly activities of the expansion. The Midnight campaign hands you your first fragments, and after that one fragment per week per character is the normal pace, so a full spark lands about every two weeks.

Step by step: your first Spark of Radiance

  1. Play the Midnight campaign to the point where the crafting spark quest line opens — this is where the first fragments are handed out, and it is the only guaranteed source.
  2. Each week, finish at least one endgame activity that awards a fragment: a raid boss kill, a completed Mythic+ key, a bountiful Delve, or the outdoor weekly. One is enough; extra activities in the same week do not give extra fragments.
  3. Once you hold two fragments, combine them in your bags to create the spark.
  4. Place a Crafting Order (personal or public) with the spark attached, or craft the piece yourself if your character has the profession and recipe.
  5. Pick the slot carefully: the first spark usually goes into the slot with the weakest item level, or into a weapon, because crafted pieces sit at the top of the season's item-level range.

Where does the first Spark of Radiance come from?

The campaign. Midnight follows the same design as the last two expansions: the story hands you the introductory spark quest, which gives the opening fragments and unlocks the weekly source. If you skipped the campaign on an alt, that alt still needs to reach the quest that starts the fragment track — there is no way around it through dungeons alone.

How many sparks can you get per week?

Half of one. The track releases one fragment per week per character, and the allowance stacks if you miss a week, so a player who returns mid-season can pick up several fragments in a row from one activity each until they are caught up. Running more content in the same week does not speed it up; it only gives you the choice of which activity delivers it.

What can you craft with Spark of Radiance?

Any current-season crafted armor, weapon or profession-quality accessory that requires a spark in its recipe. The spark sets the crafted item's item-level ceiling, and it is consumed on the first craft only — recrafting the same piece later to raise quality or change its embellishment does not need a second spark. Most players spend the first one on a weapon or an embellished piece, since those give the largest single-slot upgrade.

Can you buy Spark of Radiance on the Auction House?

No. Fragments and the finished spark are soulbound. What you can buy is the finished crafted item via a Crafting Order: you provide the spark, the crafter provides the skill and any optional reagents, and the piece comes back to you bound. The gold or materials you attach to the order are the only market side of the process.

Not sure if this is the right name?

Spark names change every season (Midnight's follow the same pattern as Spark of Omens and Spark of Fortunes before them). If your client shows a different spark in the crafting UI, the acquisition route above is the same: campaign first, then one fragment a week from the endgame activity of your choice.

If the weekly fragment chase is the part you do not have time for, PewPewShop's vetted players can run the spark-earning activities with you as coaching or play-together progression help — the Artisan Spark Farm starts from EUR 28, and a Mythic +10 Timed Run from EUR 19.98 covers the weekly fragment in one evening.
