How to get to the Drowned City entrance
- Travel to Stranglethorn Vale. Use the Horde base at Grom'gol as your landmark.
- Head west from Grom'gol to the coastline and swim out to sea.
- Dive under the water. The entrance is below the surface, so you won't spot it from the beach.
Blizzard hasn't published coordinates or a summoning-stone location yet. Once you're past the entrance, the dungeon opens up into a ruined city under the open sky instead of a cave.
Forever Beta Leveling 1–30 (current beta cap)Your beta character leveled to the current cap so you can test dungeons, talents and professionsfrom 14 EURGet it doneIs the Drowned City the "Grom'gol dungeon" in Forever?
Yes. It's the new dungeon closest to Grom'gol, and Blizzard describes its location as west of that outpost. Grom'gol is a Horde base. Blizzard hasn't said whether the dungeon has a faction-specific way in, the way the City of Dalaran does, so don't assume either side is locked out.
Can you run the Drowned City on the beta?
No. The beta runs until October 21 and stops at level 30. The new dungeons open there are Hall of Thanes, Ruins of Lordaeron, the Excavation Site (24–29) and City of Dalaran (28–33). That makes the Drowned City one of the dungeons nobody has played publicly, so expect it to be unexplored on launch day.
Where does the Drowned City fit in the leveling path?
It comes after the City of Dalaran (28–33) and before Krol'dok Stronghold (40–45), the ogre fortress in the new Riverglades zone. Blizzard lists the Riverglades as a 30–45 zone and says players arrive around level 36, so a 35–40 dungeon run fits well with questing there. At the BlizzCon demo, Wowhead photographed a "Spelunker" achievement that lists The Drowned City in its "Experienced" tier alongside other mid-level dungeons. That's only a hint, though, since the achievement isn't an official level range.
What bosses and loot does the Drowned City have?
That's unknown. Blizzard has confirmed the trolls, the naga and the storm before the final fight, but it hasn't published a boss list or drop table. Treat any boss names or loot lists you see before November 4 with caution.
