WoW: Forever's group finder makes you pick one of four Playstyle tags before you can look for a dungeon group: Learning, Relaxed, Competitive or Carry Offered. The tag tells other players what kind of run you want. Wowhead reported the tags from the beta on October 7, 2026. Blizzard has not published official definitions for them or said how they are moderated.

What each tag signals in practice

  • Learning: you're new to the dungeon, or new to your role, and you're fine with people explaining pulls and boss mechanics. Expect a slower run with more wipes.
  • Relaxed: you know the dungeon but you're not racing the clock. It suits questing groups and alts.
  • Competitive: you want a fast, efficient clear with tight pulls and players who know their class.
  • Carry Offered: a stronger or higher-level player is offering to take a group through content it would struggle with alone.

These readings come from the tag names, not from a Blizzard tooltip. Take them as community shorthand until Blizzard explains the tags.

Which tag should I pick?

Pick the one that matches the run you actually want, not the one you think fills fastest. Players who join a Competitive group to learn a dungeon cause most LFG friction. Forever dungeons reward careful play: Blizzard says crowd control and threat still matter, and new dungeons like Ruins of Lordaeron are packed with trash. If you're unsure about a dungeon, Learning or Relaxed is the honest pick.

Does the tag change loot or rewards?

Nothing published says it does. As far as anyone has reported, the tag only matches players. It doesn't change difficulty: Forever dungeons have one difficulty and no scaling.

What did Wowhead say about "Carry Offered"?

In its October 7 report, Wowhead suggested that the tag could raise questions under Blizzard's Terms of Use when money changes hands for a carry. That is Wowhead's reading, not a Blizzard statement. Separately, Blizzard has confirmed that GDKP raids are not allowed in Forever. Blizzard hasn't said how it will handle the Carry Offered tag.

Can I use the group finder at launch for every dungeon?

The tags were seen on the beta, where Hall of Thanes, Ruins of Lordaeron, the Wetlands Excavation Site (26–31) and many classic dungeons are open. Beta UI can still change before November 4. Expect the same system at launch unless Blizzard announces otherwise.

Some players would rather skip the group-finder lottery while leveling. PewPewShop's vetted human players can play through Forever dungeons with you as a coaching and progression service, from EUR 40 for Forever Dungeon Leveling. We use no bots and no cheats.
