Yes — per Wowhead's recaps of Blizzard's September 2026 interviews, Azshara receives more quests in World of Warcraft: Forever, and the Wetlands gets a new art pass plus reworked fog. Both are updates to existing Classic zones, not new zones. Forever launches November 4, 2026; the beta (September 17 – October 21) is capped at level 30, so neither zone is playable there yet.
What Blizzard actually said about Azshara and the Wetlands
- Azshara: "more quests" — the exact count, level range and questgivers were not published. In original Classic, Azshara was a large 45–55 zone with very few quests, which is why players asked about it.
- Wetlands: new art and reworked fog. No details on which sub-regions were repainted.
- Wetlands dungeon: one of the nine new dungeons is an Excavation site above Whelgar's Excavation (Wowhead photographed it as "Excavation Site: Wetlands" in a Novice Spelunker achievement, alongside Deadmines and Shadowfang Keep — so it is a low-level instance, but Blizzard has not printed its level range).
- Source: press interviews around the September 17 live Q&A, as written up by Wowhead. Not a patch note — details can change before launch.
- Playable when: the beta opens all zones only to level 20 in week 1, rising to 30 later. Wetlands (a 20–30 zone) may appear during the beta; Azshara at 45+ will not before November 4.
Every other zone change confirmed so far
| Zone | Change |
| Duskwood | Spookier atmosphere, real-time torch light |
| Dustwallow Marsh | Reworked fog |
| Badlands | Lighting tied to the sun's position |
| Ashenvale | Flowing water |
| Dire Maul / Maraudon / Razorfen Downs area | Expanded Shen'dralar content; Shen'dralas is a hidden region between Mulgore and Desolace |
| Mount Hyjal | Entirely new endgame zone (Hyjal Summit raid, one Barrow Deeps entrance) |
| The Riverglades | New 30–45 zone in the Eastern Kingdoms, 150+ quests, neutral goblin port |
| Zephras Isle | New 1–12 Skyborne start, a floating island |
Those last three are the only brand-new zones at launch. Everything else in the table is a facelift or expansion of a zone you already know. Blizzard also offers toggleable HD and SD graphics for characters and the world, so the new Wetlands art can be viewed in either mode.
Is Azshara a full leveling zone now, like the Riverglades?
Unknown. Blizzard only used the phrase "more quests." The Riverglades is the zone Blizzard describes with a quest count (150+) and its own reputations; Azshara got no such numbers. Treat it as the old zone with a thicker questbook until Blizzard says otherwise — and keep in mind Azshara's level range in Forever has not been restated either.
Does the Wetlands get new quests too, or just art?
Only art and fog were mentioned for the Wetlands specifically. The zone's practical change is the new Excavation dungeon at Whelgar's dig, which gives Alliance levelers something to run between Deadmines and Gnomeregan. Blizzard's launch total of 1,000+ new quests is spread across the three new zones, the Shen'dralar expansion and the older zones — the Wetlands' share, if any, is not published.
Are these Classic+ zone changes the same as Season of Discovery?
No. Forever is a separate, permanent third version of WoW built by the Classic team, with a level cap that stays at 60 and new content shipped as patches. Some SoD ideas return (Waylaid supply crates, Tarnished Undermine Reals, some class quests), but the zone work — Azshara quests, Wetlands art, Duskwood torches — is Forever-only. Nothing carries over from Classic Era, Anniversary or SoD as far as Blizzard has said.
Will I see the changes on the beta?
Partly. Week 1 of the beta is Zephras Isle, Hall of Thanes, Ruins of Lordaeron and every zone up to level 20. The cap rises to 30 later, so the Wetlands and its Excavation dungeon are within reach before October 21 if Blizzard unlocks them; Azshara sits well above the beta cap. A "Server Slam" open to everyone for a few hours is planned, date pending.
If you would rather skip the re-leveling and reach Azshara's new quests with a character that is already 45+, PewPewShop's vetted human players offer WoW: Forever power leveling 1–60 from EUR 25 and Forever Leveling 45–60 from EUR 18 as launch-day pre-orders, plus dungeon leveling from EUR 40 for the new instances — human players only, no bots, and a long zero-ban record.
