What was the Applejack Still XP exploit?
Applejack Still was an Alliance-only quest just outside Stormwind City that paid experience every time you turned it in. Each turn-in needed only 4 Shiny Red Apples, and a vendor sold those, so the loop was simply buy, hand in, repeat.
Per Wowhead, a video on the Classic WoW subreddit showed a level 21 character getting 170 experience per turn-in, and many beta players used the loop to reach the level 30 beta cap quickly. Greenfield confirmed on X that the farm was unintended and is fixed ahead of launch, so it will not work on November 4.
Is Forever leveling faster or slower than Classic?
Each level takes the same amount of experience as in Classic. The change is in where that experience comes from. In an interview with Friends Per Second, Clay Stone said quest XP had been set too high and mob XP too low, and the beta builds moved both numbers toward a more even split.
Blizzard has not published a target time for leveling from 1 to 60, so any exact /played number for launch is a guess. In practice the pace will feel familiar to Classic players: a solo character kills an ordinary mob in roughly 10 to 15 seconds, and there is no level scaling, so every zone keeps its own level range.
Forever Leveling 1–30The early game done — starting zones, first dungeons, level 30.from 42 EURGet it doneIs dungeon leveling faster than questing in WoW: Forever?
Not by design. Blizzard is aiming for dungeon leveling that is close to questing speed and no faster. The October 1 beta build halved the extra experience from dungeon quests because testers were leveling too fast. Then the October 8 build raised kill XP inside dungeons by about 20%.
Greenfield said that with perfect play, dungeon leveling should come very close to optimal questing speed. Senior Game Designer Rowan Ryder added that dungeons should be worth repeating, but grinding them should not be the best way to play. The October 8 build also fixed the party penalty for killing lower-level enemies, which is again calculated from each player's own level, and Blizzard said the two changes together should "dramatically increase" dungeon XP for most players.
Will another XP exploit show up at launch?
Nobody can promise one, and planning your launch week around one is a bad bet. The Applejack Still fix shows Blizzard closing unintended XP farms before live servers open. The +200% experience potion sold at the end-of-beta event was beta-only, and Blizzard said those items will not be in Forever after launch.
What actually speeds up your first character?
Your first character gets small bonuses that stack, not one big shortcut. The Legacy system's XP perks will not help it at the start, because most players earn their first Legacy Point when their first character reaches level 25.
- Well Fed food: +5% experience on the foods that carry the bonus. Per Wowhead, these include Brilliant Smallfish, Slitherskin Mackerel and Longjaw Mud Snapper.
- Cozy Sleeping Bag: up to 3% bonus XP after a short rest, on a 1-hour cooldown.
- Campsites: a Leatherworker's campsite object can give rested XP up to 5% of a level while you sit at the fire.
- Legacy perks for alts: Well Rested adds rested XP, and Talented unlocks talent points up to 5 levels earlier, but only after you have earned points.
If you would rather have a vetted human pro play alongside you, PewPewShop's Forever leveling help starts from 9 EUR. Boosters quote 2 to 3 weeks for a full 1–60 at launch, and work begins on November 4 at 3:00 p.m. PST, in the order orders arrived.
Frequently asked questions
Does the Applejack Still quest still give XP in WoW: Forever?
No. Applejack Still was an Alliance-only quest outside Stormwind that kept paying experience for 4 vendor-bought Shiny Red Apples, about 170 XP per turn-in at level 21 on the beta. Josh "Aggrend" Greenfield confirmed on X that this unintended experience farm is fixed ahead of the November 4 launch.
Is the XP per level in WoW: Forever the same as Classic?
Yes. A datamined table early in the beta suggested lower experience requirements, but Wowhead retracted it after Blizzard clarified that the experience needed per level matches Classic. What Blizzard changed is the source of the XP: less from dungeon quests and more from killing mobs.
Is dungeon spam the fastest way to level in WoW: Forever?
Blizzard does not intend it to be. During the beta it halved the extra XP from dungeon quests and raised dungeon kill XP by about 20%. Developers said that with perfect play, dungeon leveling should come close to optimal questing speed, and that grinding dungeons should not be the best way to play.
Can a level 60 friend power-level me in WoW: Forever dungeons?
Not through kill XP. Blizzard's October 8 beta notes say that when a party member is vastly higher level than the enemy, nobody in the party gets experience, and Blizzard says this is intended. The party penalty for lower-level enemies is calculated from each player's own level, as in Classic Era.
What gives bonus XP in WoW: Forever?
On the beta, some foods added +5% experience through Well Fed, the Cozy Sleeping Bag gave up to 3% bonus XP after resting, and a Leatherworking campsite object gave rested XP up to 5% of a level. Legacy perks such as Well Rested add more rested XP once you have earned Legacy Points.
How long does it take to reach 60 in WoW: Forever?
Blizzard has not published a target leveling time. The XP curve matches Classic, and an ordinary mob takes roughly 10 to 15 seconds to kill solo, so expect a Classic-style climb. Any exact /played figure quoted before launch is an estimate, not an official number.
