You cannot increase the Conquest cap yourself — it rises automatically by a fixed amount every week of the PvP season, and the cap is cumulative, so Conquest you skipped in earlier weeks stays available as catch-up. Late in the season Blizzard lifts the cap entirely, and from then on Conquest is uncapped. The only way to 'increase' it is to keep playing rated PvP each week and not leave earned Conquest on the table.
How the Conquest cap works
- Weekly increment: the cap goes up by the same amount every reset (Wednesday EU / Tuesday NA). In recent seasons (Dragonflight, The War Within) it opened at 1,350 Conquest and grew by 550 per week; check the Conquest tooltip in your Currency tab for the exact Midnight Season 2 numbers.
- Cumulative catch-up: if you miss a week, the cap still grows. Log in three weeks late and you can earn the entire accumulated amount in one sitting.
- What counts: rated arena, Solo Shuffle, Battleground Blitz and rated BG wins all count toward the cap, as do the weekly PvP quests.
- Cap removal: in the closing weeks of each season the cap is switched off, and Conquest becomes uncapped until the season ends.
- Honor is separate: Honor has no weekly cap, only a maximum you can hold at once.
How to hit the rising cap every week
- Queue the mode you win most in — Solo Shuffle and Blitz pay Conquest per round or win, so a 3-3 shuffle still moves you forward.
- Pick up the weekly PvP quest from the vendor in your capital's PvP hub before your first game; it's a large Conquest lump for games you were playing anyway.
- Check the Currency tab: it shows earned-this-week against the current cap, so you know exactly when to stop.
- If you fall behind, don't panic — the gap only closes at your pace. The catch-up means a single heavy weekend can recover several missed weeks.
Why is my Conquest cap higher than my friend's?
It isn't — the cap itself is identical for every player in the same week. What differs is how much of it each of you has already spent. Someone who started the season late sees a large unclaimed pool because the weekly increments have been stacking without being used.
Does the Conquest cap reset every week?
No. Your earned-this-season total is what the cap measures, and that total never resets mid-season. Each reset simply moves the ceiling upward. The only true reset is the start of a new season, when all Conquest from the previous one is converted.
When is the Conquest cap removed?
Blizzard lifts the cap in the final stretch of the season, usually a few weeks before it ends, so players who need one more piece can grind freely. The exact week is announced in the season's patch notes; watch for the phrase 'Conquest cap has been removed' in the weekly hotfix post.
Can I convert Honor into Conquest to skip the cap?
No. There is no Honor-to-Conquest conversion, and no vendor sells Conquest. Bloody Tokens from war mode are a separate currency for their own gear track. The cap is the only gate, and time is the only key.
