Gladiator in World of Warcraft requires 2400 rating in 3v3 Arena, plus 50 wins earned while sitting at or above 2400 during the same season. Rating alone is not enough — the 50 wins above the line are the real gate. Hitting both awards the Gladiator title and that season's Gladiator mount immediately, not at season end.

Gladiator requirements at a glance

  • Bracket: 3v3 Arena only. 2v2 and Solo Shuffle rating does not count toward Gladiator.
  • Rating: 2400 or higher at the moment each qualifying win is recorded.
  • Wins: 50 wins at 2400+. Wins earned below 2400 do not count, and the counter is per season.
  • Rewards: the Gladiator title, the seasonal Gladiator mount, and the achievement. Both are granted the moment the 50th win lands.
  • Rank 1 titles (the named ones like Verdant / Draconic / Forged Gladiator) are a separate, percentage-based cut of the top 3v3 ladder at season end. Gladiator itself has no percentage cut — it is a fixed threshold anyone can reach.

The rule set — 2400 plus 50 wins — has been the standard for several expansions now, and it is the version in play for the current Midnight season. Earlier in WoW's history Gladiator was a top-0.5% cutoff, which is why older forum posts quote a different answer.

The important distinction: everything up to Elite is a snapshot of your rating when the season closes. Gladiator and Legend are earned live, mid-season, and cannot be lost once the achievement fires.

Is Gladiator hard to get?

Honestly, yes. 2400 in 3v3 is typically the top few percent of the arena population, and the 50-win requirement means you have to stay there long enough to grind out roughly 60–80 games above the line — nobody wins every match at that MMR. A solid team, consistent schedule and a strong meta comp matter as much as personal skill. Most players who reach it do so with a fixed group rather than random partners.

Can you get Gladiator in 2v2 or Solo Shuffle?

No. 2v2 caps out at the Elite title and the 2400 transmog rewards. Solo Shuffle has its own top-end title, Legend, which requires 100 wins at 2400+ rating instead of 50. If you play mostly Shuffle, Legend is your Gladiator equivalent; the mount, however, is tied to 3v3 only.

What rating do you need for the Elite PvP set?

The Elite transmog set unlocks at 1800 rating in any rated bracket, so it is far more reachable than Gladiator. The weapon illusion and higher-tier cosmetic tabard/cloak pieces sit at 2100 and 2400. Enchant illusions and the 2400 weapon appearances are the last cosmetic hurdles before the Gladiator mount.

Does the Gladiator mount change each season?

Yes. Each season ships a unique recolour or new model of the Gladiator mount, and it is removed from the game when the season ends. That is the main reason Gladiator is time-pressured — you can reach it in a later season, but the specific mount from this one is gone forever.
