Warlock sits right behind them: strong pet, self-healing through drains, and a free mount at 40. Warrior and Paladin are the slowest and most gear-dependent, so they are a poor first pick if you only have a few hours a week.
Which class is best for raiding in Classic?
Warrior. A Fury Warrior with the right buffs and a Windfury Totem (Horde) or Blessing of Might and Kings (Alliance) does more damage than anything else on the meter once gear catches up, and Protection Warriors are the main tanks for every raid. Mage and Rogue are close behind on damage and far easier to gear early on.
For healing, Priest first, then Druid and Paladin or Shaman. Hybrid DPS specs — Retribution, Feral, Enhancement, Balance, Shadow — are not competitive in serious raid groups, so if you roll a hybrid expect to heal or buff.
