Blizzard has published full Forever talent deep dives for five classes: Paladin, Hunter, Druid, Priest and Warrior. Rogue and Shaman have video highlights, and Mage and Warlock have only beta tuning notes. Every class keeps its three Classic trees. Talents open at level 10, and milestone talents sit at 11, 16 (new), 21 and 31 points.

Quick facts: how Forever talents work

  • Talents start at level 10. The rows are the same as in Classic. Some talents are exactly as they were in patch 1.12, and others have been reworked.
  • Milestone talents sit at 11, 21 and 31 points, plus a new 16-point milestone in every tree.
  • Filler talents are being cut. Blizzard is moving away from +1–2% talents, and old buff talents are now baseline: Blessing of Kings, Improved Mark of the Wild and Divine Spirit.
  • Respec: you change talents, including Legacy talents, at a class trainer in a major city.
  • Dual specialization unlocks at level 40.
  • Beta-only respec price: 1 silver, or 5 gold if you reset again within an hour. Normal prices return at launch.
  • Everything can still change while the beta runs (September 17 to October 21).

What is the new 16-point talent?

Each tree now has a fourth milestone halfway between the 11- and 21-point picks. It is usually a real ability, not a passive. Hunters get Summon Hawk, Priests get Binding Heal or Soul Warding, Warriors get Spearing Strike or Vanguard, and Feral Druids choose between Shifting Power for cats and Primal Bite for bears. Because of this new milestone, a mid-tree hybrid build now gets a payoff it never had in Classic.

Are Mage and Warlock talent trees out yet?

Not as full deep dives. Blizzard has said more classes get deep dives as the beta goes on. For now, the only Mage and Warlock changes come from beta patch notes. Treat any "full Mage tree" you see elsewhere as unconfirmed until Blizzard posts it.

How many talent points do you get in Forever?

The level cap stays at 60, and the Legacy perk shown at the BlizzCon demo, Talented, unlocks talent points up to 5 levels earlier than normal per Blizzard's Legacy overview (the demo showed level 9); the maximum stays 51. Without it, talents open at level 10 as usual.

Will these trees change before launch?

Almost certainly in places. The Warrior Fury tree was reworked twice within days, and Blizzard is still fixing Rage bugs. Check a build again before you commit gold to a respec once the game launches on November 4.

If you'd rather spend launch week playing your new spec than grinding to it, PewPewShop's vetted players offer coaching and play-together progression help, including Forever Dungeon Leveling from EUR 40, queued for November 4.
