Cloth in Midnight drops from humanoid, undead and demonic mobs inside the expansion's zones — there is no cloth node and no gathering profession for it. The fastest farm is the densest humanoid pack you can kill on a loop: outdoor camps in current zones, or a solo run through a current dungeon on the lowest available difficulty. Kill speed, not gear rarity, decides your cloth per hour.
Cloth farming: the rules that always hold
- Source: humanoids first, then undead and demons. Beasts, elementals, constructs and most dragonkin drop no cloth at all — skip them entirely.
- Zone tier matters: current-expansion cloth drops in current-expansion content. Midnight is set in Quel'Thalas, the elven homeland around Silvermoon, so that is where the new cloth tier comes from. Older zones keep dropping older cloth.
- No profession needed: any character can loot cloth. Tailoring only turns it into bolts and gear — it is not a requirement to farm.
- Density beats difficulty: a caster mob that dies inside one global cooldown is worth far more per hour than an elite with ten times the health.
- Dungeons concentrate humanoids: a solo clear of a current dungeon on the lowest difficulty packs more eligible mobs into a small route than open world usually can.
- Cloth is not soulbound: farm on whichever character clears fastest and mail it to your tailor.
- AoE loot is your multiplier: pull five to eight mobs, kill them together, loot once. Never single-pull for cloth.
One honest caveat: exact cloth item names, per-mob drop percentages and named farm spots shift between builds and hotfixes. The mechanics above are stable across every expansion WoW has shipped; verify the specific item name and your best local route in-game rather than trusting any list that claims exact numbers.
WoW GoldFast, safe gold delivery on your realm and faction.from 18 EURGet it doneWhere do you farm cloth in Midnight?
Look for the highest concentration of humanoid or undead mobs in the newest zones you have unlocked, and build a circuit you can run without stopping. Enemy camps, occupied ruins and questing hubs full of casters are the classic shape: low health pools, tight spacing, quick respawns.
If the open world in your zone is thin or contested, swap to a dungeon route. Pick one whose trash is mostly humanoid, run it solo at the lowest difficulty, reset, repeat. It is the most reliable cloth-per-hour method in the game and has been for years.
Do you need Tailoring to farm cloth?
No. Cloth drops for every class and every profession combination. Tailoring is what makes the cloth worth more — bolts, bags and gear — but a Herbalism/Mining character farming humanoids loots exactly the same cloth as a tailor does.
Is farming cloth faster than buying it on the Auction House?
Often it is not. Early in a patch, raw cloth is expensive and farming pays well. A few weeks in, thousands of players are dumping cloth from levelling and dungeon runs, and the price collapses below what your time is worth.
Do the math before you commit an evening: check the current stack price, then farm for fifteen minutes and count what you got. If that quarter-hour of cloth is worth less than the gold you'd make doing anything else, buy it and go raid.
Which mobs give the most cloth per hour?
Low-health humanoid casters in groups of four or more, in a zone with fast respawns. Avoid elites, rare spawns and anything with a shield or heavy armour — the cloth chance per kill is roughly comparable, so every extra second spent on a single mob directly cuts your total.
If grinding humanoid camps isn't how you want to spend your playtime, PewPewShop's vetted human players can handle the progression side while you keep the parts you enjoy — coaching, play-together runs and rent-a-pro help for gearing, keys and raid progress, all by real players with a long clean record. Plenty of people would simply rather log in to a ready tailor and a full bank.
