The most efficient WoW transmog farm route is a weekly solo loop through old raids in expansion order: Burning Crusade tiers, then Wrath 10/25-man, Cataclysm, Mists and Warlords. Most raids up to Legion fall to a modern max-level character in 5-15 minutes each, lockouts reset weekly, and 10- and 25-player versions of the same Wrath raid drop separate loot — so one clean loop per week is the entire strategy.
The weekly route, in order
- Black Temple, Sunwell Plateau, Tempest Keep, Serpentshrine Cavern (Outland) — dense tier sets and the classic Legendary weapons. Highest appearance-per-minute of any block.
- Icecrown Citadel, Ulduar, Trial of the Crusader, Naxxramas, Obsidian/Ruby Sanctum (Northrend) — run 10 and 25 where offered; they are separate lockouts with separate models.
- Firelands, Dragon Soul, Bastion of Twilight, Blackwing Descent (Cataclysm) — Firelands also holds the legendary staff quest chain.
- Mogu'shan Vaults, Heart of Fear, Throne of Thunder, Siege of Orgrimmar (Pandaria) — Throne of Thunder is long; park it last if you are short on time.
- Highmaul, Blackrock Foundry, Hellfire Citadel (Draenor), then Legion raids if your gear handles them.
Rules that actually change your loot per hour
- Difficulty matters. Heroic and Mythic versions of old raids often carry appearances the Normal version does not. Set the highest difficulty you can solo before you zone in.
- Bring alts of different armor types. Old raids drop loot by class, so a plate wearer will not see cloth tier. One character per armor class covers the whole wardrobe far faster than one character running everything four times.
- Loot everything, then use the Appearances tab filter. Set it to "Not Collected" and the game tells you exactly what is still missing per raid — that filter is your route planner.
- Dungeons are for specific pieces, not sweeps. Use them when you want one known model; raids are where bulk collecting happens.
- Weekly reset is the clock. Raid lockouts reset with the region weekly reset; dungeon appearances have no lockout and can be farmed repeatedly the same day.
Where are transmog mounts located in WoW?
The mounts players chase on these same runs are boss drops inside the raids on the route — Ulduar, Icecrown Citadel, Firelands, Dragon Soul and Throne of Thunder all hold mount drops from specific bosses, usually gated behind the higher difficulty of that raid. Because they share the raid lockout, you get them on the same weekly loop for free.
The practical answer to "transmog mount location" is: your Mount Journal already lists the source. Open it, filter to unlearned mounts, and check the drop location listed on each — then fold those raids into the order above rather than making a separate trip.
Is there a WoW transmog farm Discord worth joining?
There is no single official transmog Discord. What players actually use are class and collector communities, plus the in-game Communities finder, to coordinate old-raid runs where a boss needs two or three people rather than one. Search Discord for "WoW collectors" or your class server and you will find active old-content groups.
For route data, the wardrobe filter in-game and community databases are more reliable than chat servers — a Discord helps most when you need bodies for a boss you cannot solo yet.
How long does a full transmog farm route take?
A geared max-level character clearing Burning Crusade through Warlords in one sitting is roughly 3-5 hours the first time, dropping to about 2 hours once you know the paths and skip trash. Split it across two evenings per week and it stays a hobby instead of a chore.
What should I farm first if I only have one hour?
Burning Crusade raids. They are the shortest, the least mechanically annoying to solo, and hold the tier sets and weapon models people actually transmog. Black Temple and Sunwell alone will fill more of your wardrobe per minute than anything in the Cataclysm block.
If you would rather not grind twenty-year-old raids on a loop, that is exactly what our collectors do. PewPewShop runs a Legacy Tier Set Farm from EUR 25, a Weapon Appearance Hunt from EUR 54, and a Full Transmog Project from EUR 70 — vetted human players, no bots or cheats, and coaching if you would rather learn the routes and run them yourself.
