Algeth'ar Academy is a four-boss Dragonflight dungeon in Thaldraszus, and a boost here means a full clear of Vexamus, Overgrown Ancient, Crawth and Echo of Doragosa — most often as a timed Mythic+ key run for score, gear and a Great Vault slot. Normal and Heroic queue through Dungeon Finder; Mythic 0 and keystones need a premade group.

Where is the Algeth'ar Academy entrance?

It sits in Thaldraszus, the zone that holds Valdrakken. Take off from the city and head for the academy structure suspended in the sky — you land on the grounds and walk into the portal, no drilling through trash to reach it.

For Normal and Heroic you never need the entrance at all; the Dungeon Finder teleports you in. Mythic 0 and keystone runs have no queue, so somebody in the party has to physically be at the door and summon the rest.

Is Algeth'ar Academy in the current Mythic+ pool?

That changes every season. Blizzard rebuilds the eight-dungeon Mythic+ rotation with each new season, pulling dungeons in and out from old expansions, and Algeth'ar Academy has been in and out over the years. Open the Group Finder's Mythic+ tab, or check your keystone list — if the dungeon isn't there, it can still be run on Normal, Heroic and Mythic 0, just without rating or a timer.

What actually wipes groups here?

The dungeon punishes sloppy target priority more than sloppy dodging. Vexamus is an arcane blob that feeds on loose magic — leave the orbs alone and it grows into something your healer can't cover. Overgrown Ancient adds pressure that needs killing on time rather than ignoring. Crawth turns the courtyard into a runway and charges across it, so the fight is a positioning check.

Echo of Doragosa closes it out with heavy sustained damage: healers need cooldowns planned, DPS need to keep uptime while moving. On high keys, the trash between bosses is the real timer killer — big pulls with interrupt rotations that fall apart the moment one person misses a kick.

Is an Algeth'ar Academy carry worth it?

Honest answer: it depends on what you're short of. If you need score, a Great Vault slot, or a specific piece and your usual group can't hold the timer, a run with players who already know the route saves you a night of failed keys. If you have a stable group and just want the gear, the dungeon is very learnable — two or three clears and the pulls stop surprising you.

Where it's least worth it: buying a clear on Normal or Heroic. Those queue in seconds and drop the weakest loot in the dungeon.
