Blizzard has not announced realm types for WoW: Forever, so whether the November 4, 2026 launch will have PvP realms with open-world ganking or PvE realms is unknown. What is confirmed: the original battlegrounds return, a new 15v15 battleground called The Darkspear Islands is added, the Honor system is changed, and the roadmap lists PvP season refreshes for spring and summer 2027.

What is confirmed about PvP in WoW: Forever

  • Realm types: not announced. No realm names, regions or PvP/PvE/RP labels have been published as of September 13, 2026.
  • Battlegrounds: the original set (Warsong Gulch, Arathi Basin, Alterac Valley) returns, plus The Darkspear Islands — a 15v15 map described as Eye of the Storm-like with Arathi Basin-style capture points.
  • Honor system: changed from the original. Exact numbers, rank structure and rewards were not published.
  • Legacy perks: "Earning PvP Ranks" is one of six Legacy Challenge categories; the Legacy tree includes For Great Honor (+2% Honor per rank).
  • Racials that matter for PvP: Horde Skyborne get Skysight (+10% run speed), Alliance Skyborne get Read Ley Line (+100% health and mana regen); both get Walk on Air (a 10-second downward glide).
  • Roadmap: PvP season refresh in spring 2027 and again in summer 2027.
  • Level cap: 60, permanently. No level scaling, no flying — the world stays flat and walkable, which matters for anyone worried about being caught in the open.

Where the "PvP servers" question comes from

Every earlier Classic launch — Classic in 2019, Season of Discovery, Hardcore, the Anniversary realms — shipped a mix of PvP and PvE realm types, so players assume Forever will too. That is a reasonable guess, but it is still a guess. Blizzard's BlizzCon 2026 panels covered zones, dungeons, raids, the Skyborne race and the Legacy system in detail and said nothing about realm lists. The official WoW: Forever forum category opened on September 12, and realm announcements for previous Classic versions usually arrived a few weeks before launch, so watch there and the blue tracker between now and Early Name Reservation (October 27 – November 3).

Will there be ganking in WoW: Forever?

If PvP realms exist, yes — Forever has no level scaling and no flying, so a level 60 in a 30–45 zone like the Riverglades has every advantage the original game gave them. The Riverglades in particular is a new Eastern Kingdoms leveling zone with a neutral goblin port, which is exactly the kind of shared space where both factions cross paths. Whether such a realm type is offered is the open question, not whether ganking would happen on it.

If you want to avoid it entirely and Blizzard does ship PvE realms, pick one at name reservation. If only one realm type ships, or if PvP toggling replaces realm types, that too is unannounced.

Is there a Classic Plus PvP server?

"Classic Plus" is community shorthand for WoW: Forever — it is the same product, not a separate one. So a "Classic Plus PvP server" is the same unanswered question: no realm types have been confirmed for Forever under either name. Leaks and rumor posts that list realm names or types are not sources; only what Blizzard publishes counts.

Does WoW: Forever have PvE servers?

Same answer: not confirmed, not denied. Realm types, names and regions are all listed as unannounced. Beta runs September 17 – October 21 (capped at level 30) and may reveal how Blizzard handles realm selection, but beta realm setups have not always matched launch realm setups in past Classic versions.

How does the new battleground compare to the old ones?

The Darkspear Islands is the first battleground built new for the Classic ruleset: 15 players per side, capture points in the Arathi Basin style, on a map Blizzard compared to Eye of the Storm. It sits alongside the three original battlegrounds rather than replacing them. Queue rules, Honor rewards and whether it is available on launch day or unlocks with the first PvP season have not been stated.

Should I play Horde or Alliance for PvP in Forever?

The new Skyborne race splits by faction: Windshaper (Horde) gets +10% run speed, High Order (Alliance) gets doubled health and mana regeneration. Run speed is the more obviously PvP-relevant of the two. New class combos — Forsaken Paladin and Dwarf Shaman — also shift each faction's toolkit, and every class is being revamped, so pre-launch tier lists are premature.

If you would rather have the PvP grind handled by someone who has already done it many times over, PewPewShop takes Forever pre-orders until November 4: Forever Battleground Wins (WSG / AB / AV) from EUR 13, Darkspear Islands Wins (15v15) from EUR 15, and Forever Honor Farming from EUR 16 per hour — all played by vetted human players, self-play or coaching formats, no bots.
