No — Delves are soloable, not solo only. You can enter with a full party of up to five players, and the Delve scales its health, damage and objectives to however many people walk in. Solo is simply the supported baseline: Brann Bronzebeard fills the gap when you go alone, and his contribution matters less as real players join you.

Quick facts on Delve group size

  • Group size: 1 to 5 players — any composition, no tank/healer/DPS requirement.
  • Scaling: enemy health and damage adjust to the number of players inside, so a duo is not running a five-player Delve.
  • Brann Bronzebeard: your NPC companion, most impactful solo; you pick his role (damage, healing or tanking) and he levels up separately from your character.
  • Rewards: loot and the Delve's chest come per player — bringing friends does not split your reward.
  • Difficulty tiers: higher tiers are harder for everyone in the group, not just the leader; tier progression is tracked per character.
  • Queue: there is no matchmaking finder for Delves — you form the group yourself or go in alone.

Should you solo or group?

Solo is the cleanest way to learn a Delve's layout, and it gives Brann room to actually contribute. Grouping is faster once you know the route, and it takes a lot of the sting out of the higher tiers — mechanics that punish a lone player get trivial when someone else can pick you up or split the damage.

Can you do WoW Delves with friends?

Yes. Invite them to a normal party and walk in together; there is no separate group version of a Delve and no minimum size. Everyone in the party earns their own loot at the end, so there is no reason to feel like you're taking someone else's reward by bringing help.

Does Brann still help in a group?

Brann comes along and keeps doing his job, but his weight in the fight drops as more players join — a five-player party barely notices which role he's set to. If you're farming his companion levels, solo or duo runs give him far more to do.

Do Delves get harder with more players?

They scale rather than simply get harder. More players means tougher enemies, but you also bring more cooldowns, more interrupts and a battle res. In practice a coordinated group clears a given tier faster and more safely than one player at the same tier.

Is soloing a high-tier Delve realistic?

It is, and that's the design intent — Delves exist so a solo player can gear up without raiding or pugging Mythic+. It gets demanding at the top tiers: you need your defensives, your interrupts and a Brann build that covers your class's weak spot. Bringing one friend is the single biggest difficulty drop available.
