WoW Classic Gnomeregan is a level 24-40 Alliance-flavored dungeon whose headline quest is "The Grand Betrayal," handed out by High Tinker Gelbin Mekkatorque in Tinker Town, Ironforge, tasking you with slaying final boss Mekgineer Thermaplugg. Most players do Gnomeregan for the XP, the gear, and the achievement of clearing one of the trickiest early instances. The quests are a nice bonus rather than the main draw, so don't stress if you miss one.
Where is the Gnomeregan entrance?
The instance portal sits in the far northwest corner of Dun Morogh, past Kharanos, at a large gnome-built structure. Follow the road out of Kharanos westward, then hug the northern edge of the zone until you reach the ramps leading down to the entrance and the survivor camp above it.
What level should you be for Gnomeregan?
Gnomeregan is tuned for roughly level 29-38, though the range technically opens earlier. A group of five around level 30-34 will clear it comfortably. Go in too low and the trash packs, especially the electrified robots and leper gnomes, punish you quickly.
Is the Grime-Encrusted Ring quest worth it?
It's a fun little side objective: the Grime-Encrusted Ring drops off mobs inside, and using it near a specific spot reveals a cleaner version. It's not a must-do, but if the ring drops, keep it. The upgraded ring is a decent caster or utility piece for the level.
Are there Horde quests in Gnomeregan?
Gnomeregan is built around the gnome storyline, so the quest content is overwhelmingly Alliance. Horde players can still enter and farm the dungeon, but expect little to no quest support tied to the instance itself.
