Wailing Caverns has nine quests in WoW Classic. Five are open to both factions: Deviate Hides, Smart Drinks, Trouble at the Docks, Deviate Eradication and The Glowing Shard. The other four are Horde-only and form the Leaders of the Fang chain plus Serpentbloom. Most givers are in Ratchet, at the cave itself or in Thunder Bluff, and quest levels run from 16 to 26.

Quick prep checklist
- Horde: take Hamuul Runetotem from Tonga in The Barrens and follow it through Thunder Bluff to Nara Wildmane. Pick up Serpentbloom from Apothecary Zamah while you are in town.
- Both factions: grab Smart Drinks and Trouble at the Docks in Ratchet before you head north.
- At the cave: talk to Nalpak and Ebru before you zone in.
- Inside: loot the glowing shard when it drops to start The Glowing Shard.
Can Alliance players do Wailing Caverns quests?
Yes, five of the nine. Deviate Hides, Smart Drinks, Trouble at the Docks, Deviate Eradication and The Glowing Shard are open to both factions. Alliance players get them from the same goblins in Ratchet and the same givers at the cave. The Leaders of the Fang chain and Serpentbloom are Horde-only.
What is the main Wailing Caverns quest?
For Horde it is Leaders of the Fang. You have to kill all four Fang leaders, Cobrahn, Anacondra, Pythas and Serpentis, and bring their gems back to Nara Wildmane in Thunder Bluff. Plan your run so you clear every one of their wings, because missing one means a second trip.
What level should you be for Wailing Caverns quests?
The quests require levels 11 to 15 to pick up, but their levels run from 16 to 26. In practice, a group in the high teens can handle most of them comfortably. Deviate Eradication (21) and The Glowing Shard (26) are the ones that may still be orange or red when you first go in.
Which Wailing Caverns quests can you finish in one run?
Every quest except the first two steps of the Horde chain can be finished in a single full clear. Deviate Hides and Deviate Eradication fill up naturally as you kill your way through. Trouble at the Docks and Smart Drinks come from mobs inside. The Glowing Shard begins inside but ends with a trip back to Ratchet.
If you'd rather not spend an evening on Barrens travel and group-finding, PewPewShop's vetted players can run the dungeon with you. Classic Dungeon Boost starts from EUR 11, and WoW Classic Character Leveling starts from EUR 18.
