WoW: Forever is Blizzard's official Classic+, launching November 4, 2026, and it is included with any active WoW subscription. Unlike a Classic Plus private server, it ships three new zones, nine new dungeons, two new raids and a new playable race on Blizzard's own servers, with a permanent level-60 cap and no risk of the project vanishing overnight or your account being wiped.

What Forever adds that private servers cannot match

  • Zones: Zephras Isle (Skyborne start, 1–12), the Riverglades (Eastern Kingdoms, 30–45, 150+ quests, a neutral goblin port) and Mount Hyjal (endgame, one of three Barrow Deeps entrances), plus expanded Shen'dralar content around Dire Maul, Maraudon and Razorfen Downs.
  • Dungeons: Hall of Thanes, Ruins of Lordaeron, City of Dalaran, Excavation Site (Wetlands), Drowned City, Blackmaw Hold, Alcaz Prison, Shaper's Terrace and Krol'dok Stronghold. Every original dungeon returns too.
  • Raids: Barrow Deeps (10-player) and Hyjal Summit (20-player) unlock December 9, 2026, together with 40-player Onyxia's Lair.
  • New race and combos: Skyborne elves (Horde Windshaper or Alliance High Order), Forsaken Paladins and Dwarf Shamans.
  • Systems: reworked classes and talents, account-wide Legacy perks, a Camping system, an updated Honor system, transmog as an opt-in per player, toggleable HD/SD graphics, gamepad support. No flying, no level scaling.
  • PvP: the original battlegrounds plus The Darkspear Islands, a 15v15 map with Arathi Basin-style capture points.

Is there a WoW: Forever private server?

No. Forever launches November 4, 2026 on Blizzard's servers only, and its client and data are new, so nothing exists for a private project to emulate yet. Anything advertised today as a "WoW Forever private server" is a Classic Plus fan project using the name, not the actual game.

Should I keep playing a Classic Plus private server after Forever launches?

If you value a free, tight-knit community with custom content you already enjoy, a private server still has a place. If you want a steady content cadence, a character that will not disappear, and official support, Forever is the safer bet: Blizzard has already listed two more raids, two dungeons and a legendary questline for spring 2027, then a revamped iconic raid and more dungeons for summer 2027. Most players will probably end up doing both for a while, then settle where their guild lands.

How much does WoW: Forever cost compared to a private server?

Private servers are typically free with optional donations. Forever needs an active WoW subscription or Game Time but no separate game purchase. The optional Skyborne Heroic Pack (€29.99 on the EU Battle.net shop) unlocks the Skyborne race, name reservation and a mount; the Epic Pack adds beta access and 30 days of game time; the Warcraft Forever Collection adds Warcraft III: Reforged and the Forsaken Kingdom campaign and is sold only until January 11, 2027. Invited friends can also play November 4–11 free with a launch code.

Does my private server character carry over to Forever?

No. Private servers run on their own databases, and Blizzard has said nothing about transfers between game versions of any kind. Everyone starts at level 1 on November 4. You can reserve up to three character names from October 27 to November 3 with any upgrade pack.

If you would rather skip the 1–60 grind and be raid-ready when Barrow Deeps opens, PewPewShop's vetted human players offer Forever pre-orders: leveling 1–30 from EUR 13, a Forsaken Paladin 1–60 from EUR 25, dungeon runs such as Drowned City from EUR 16, and the Launch-Ready Pack (1–60, pre-raid gear and 500g) from EUR 219. Play-together and coaching options are available, with a 2–3 week estimate for a full 1–60 at launch.
