Blizzard has confirmed that the Honor system in WoW: Forever is changed from the original Vanilla version, but no numbers have been published yet — no rank thresholds, decay rates or reward tiers. What is confirmed: the original battlegrounds return, a new 15v15 battleground called The Darkspear Islands arrives, and PvP season refreshes sit on the Spring and Summer 2027 roadmap.
What Blizzard has actually said about Forever PvP
- Honor system: changed. Listed by Blizzard among the reworked systems at BlizzCon 2026 alongside professions, riding skill and talents. Specifics were not shown.
- Battlegrounds: the original ones (Warsong Gulch, Arathi Basin, Alterac Valley) return.
- New battleground: The Darkspear Islands — 15v15, built like Eye of the Storm with Arathi Basin-style capture points.
- PvP seasons: a "PvP season refresh" is on the roadmap for Spring 2027 and again for Summer 2027, which points to a seasonal PvP structure rather than the open-ended grind of 2004–2006.
- Level cap: stays at 60 permanently, so PvP gear and honor progress will not be invalidated by an expansion.
- Launch: November 4, 2026, included with any active WoW subscription. Beta runs September 17 – October 21, capped at level 30, so PvP at the cap is not testable before launch.
What remains unknown (and what to ignore)
Anything you read right now claiming exact honor-per-kill values, weekly rank thresholds, a specific decay percentage or a Marks-of-Honor exchange rate for Forever is speculation. Blizzard has not published: the rank ladder (whether the fourteen Vanilla ranks stay), how weekly standing is calculated, whether honor decays, the reward vendors, or how the two roadmap "season refreshes" reset progress. Treat those as open questions until an official post or the beta client says otherwise.
Will Forever keep the old 14-rank Vanilla honor ladder?
Unknown. Blizzard only said the system is changed. The original Vanilla ladder ranked players against each other on their realm each week, and the top ranks demanded extreme weekly playtime — that pressure is the most common complaint about the old design, and the most likely target of a rework. Whether Forever softens it, replaces it with a currency model, or keeps ranks with a different formula has not been shown.
Is there a PvP season in WoW: Forever?
The roadmap lists a PvP season refresh in Spring 2027 and another in Summer 2027, so seasons exist in some form. That is the strongest hint we have about the honor rework: a seasonal structure usually means rewards tied to a season window rather than a permanent realm-wide race. How a refresh affects earned honor, ranks or titles is not published.
What is The Darkspear Islands?
It is the one new battleground confirmed for launch: 15 players per side, an Eye of the Storm-style layout, and Arathi Basin-style capture points. It joins Warsong Gulch, Arathi Basin and Alterac Valley. Queue rules, honor rewards and any reputation attached to it have not been announced.
When will the real honor numbers be known?
The earliest realistic window is the beta (September 17 – October 21, 2026), though the level 30 cap means endgame PvP rewards may not be visible there. Expect a Blizzard systems post closer to the November 4 launch. We update this page as soon as official figures appear.
Planning your Forever PvP start
Since the cap is level 60 forever, honor earned at launch keeps its value. Reasonable preparation: pick a class from the revamped roster (every class and spec was reworked; Forsaken Paladins and Dwarf Shamans are new), reserve your name October 27 – November 3 with an upgrade pack, and plan to reach 60 before the December 9 raid unlock so your first PvP season starts at the cap. Boosters currently quote 2–3 weeks for a full 1–60 at launch.
If you would rather have a vetted human player handle the grind while you learn the new class kits, PewPewShop offers Forever Honor Farming by the hour from EUR 16, Darkspear Islands 15v15 wins from EUR 15, and WSG / AB / AV battleground wins from EUR 13 — all as play-together or rent-a-pro sessions with no bots, available as pre-orders until launch.
