Yes, World of Warcraft: Forever has transmog, and it is opt-in per player. Blizzard confirmed at BlizzCon 2026 that the Classic+ experience ships with an appearance system you can switch on for your own character, while players who want the original 2004 look can simply leave it off. Forever launches November 4, 2026, alongside the rest of the game's launch systems.
Transmog in WoW: Forever — the quick facts
- Status: confirmed by Blizzard as a launch feature of World of Warcraft: Forever.
- Model: opt-in, decided by each player individually. It is not a server-wide setting.
- Who it affects: your own character. Whether you also see other players' transmogs when you opt out is not something Blizzard has spelled out yet.
- Launch date: November 4, 2026, 3:00 p.m. PST, worldwide.
- Cost: included with an active WoW subscription or Game Time — no extra purchase.
- Beta: September 17 – October 21, 2026 (level 30 cap), for Skyborne Epic Pack and Warcraft Forever Collection owners.
- Companion toggles: HD and SD graphics for characters and the world can be switched too, so "old look" and "new look" are both choices, not mandates.
That is the full extent of what has been published. How the transmog window works, which items count as collected, whether a wardrobe is account-wide, and what it costs in gold are all unknown at the time of writing. Blizzard's numbers and menus for this are not out yet, so treat anything more specific you read elsewhere as a guess.

Forever is built by the Classic team as a third WoW experience next to Modern and Classic, set in the game's first year with a permanent level 60 cap. A lot of that audience plays specifically because gear looks like what it is: a warrior in Might, a rogue in Bloodfang, a fresh 60 in green shoulders. Making transmog a per-player choice keeps that visual honesty for those who want it while letting everyone else dress how they like.
It fits the pattern of Forever's other settings. Nothing about the presentation is forced — graphics fidelity is toggleable, and transmog follows the same logic.
How will the WoW Forever transmog toggle work?
Blizzard has only said that transmog is opt-in per player. There is no published interface, no listed vendor location, and no announced gold cost. Expect the details to surface once beta testers get their hands on it from September 17, and expect them to shift before launch — beta feedback on a system like this tends to be loud.
What we can say: because the choice belongs to the player, you should not need to pick a special realm type to get or avoid it. Realm names and types themselves have not been announced, so nothing more definite can be promised there.
Does Forever transmog carry over from Classic or retail?
Unknown, and it is worth being blunt about that. Blizzard has not said anything about appearances, collections or characters moving between Modern, Classic and Forever. Forever is a separate experience with its own systems — new zones like the Riverglades and Mount Hyjal, nine new dungeons, a new Skyborne race — so the safest assumption until told otherwise is that your Forever wardrobe starts empty on November 4.
What else changes about how your character looks in Forever?
Two confirmed things. First, HD and SD character models are toggleable, so you can run a 2026 character in a 2004 world or vice versa. Second, the new Skyborne race brings its own visual identity, including unique sky-blue druid forms — and Skyborne characters require the Skyborne Heroic Pack (€29.99 on the EU shop) or higher. Mounts are ground-only; there is no flying in Forever, so a good-looking mount is a ground mount by definition. The Heroic Pack's Cerulean Prideclaw is the one example named so far.
Gear itself stays the real driver of appearance if you play without transmog, and that gear comes from the new dungeons — Dalaran, Lordaeron, The Drowned City and the rest — plus the Barrow Deeps and Hyjal Summit raids opening December 9, 2026. Loot tables are not published yet.
Bottom line on WoW Forever transmog
You get to decide. Transmog exists in Classic+, you choose whether your character uses it, and the deeper mechanics arrive with the beta. If you would rather spend your time at 60 collecting looks than grinding up to it, PewPewShop's vetted human players offer Forever pre-orders now — leveling 1–30 from EUR 13, any dungeon run from EUR 12, and a Dalaran run from EUR 16 — as coaching or play-together help with a long zero-ban record. Raid clears open with the December 9 unlock.
