No — WoW: Forever is not free, but it costs nothing extra. It is included with any active World of Warcraft subscription or Game Time, with no separate game purchase, launching November 4, 2026. The Skyborne Heroic, Epic and Collection packs are optional upgrades for the new race, beta and cosmetics; a standard subscriber gets the full game without them.

The short version: Forever sits next to Modern (retail) and Classic as a third experience on the same subscription. Blizzard is treating it the way it treats Classic — a mode you already own if you pay for game time. There is no expansion box to buy, and the level cap stays at 60 for good, with new content arriving in patches rather than paid expansions.
The Venomous Abyss Raid Boost — Midnight Season 2All eight bosses of the current tier, on the difficulty you pick.from 25.79 EURGet it doneDo you have to buy WoW: Forever?
No. If your subscription is active on November 4, 2026, you log in, pick WoW: Forever, and play. Every launch zone, dungeon and raid is there — Zephras Isle is the only area gated behind a pack, because it is the Skyborne starting island. Non-Skyborne characters still get the Riverglades, Mount Hyjal, the nine new dungeons and both new raids without spending a cent beyond the sub.
The packs are worth buying only if you want something specific: the Skyborne race, the beta, a locked-in character name, or the cosmetics. None of them adds power, quests or endgame that a regular subscriber cannot reach.
Can you try WoW: Forever without a subscription?
Yes, briefly. Invite-A-Friend Launch Codes go out by email from October 20. If a friend who owns a pack sends you one, you can play November 4–11 without a subscription. The Heroic Pack comes with one code; Epic and the Collection come with three. After November 11 you need your own game time to keep going.
Beta is the other no-sub route, but it costs money the other way round: beta access (September 17 – October 21, capped at level 30) comes only with the Skyborne Epic Pack or the Warcraft Forever Collection.
What does the Skyborne race actually require?
The Skyborne Heroic Pack or higher. Skyborne are a new elven race from Zephras Isle and are not neutral — they join the Horde as Windshapers or the Alliance as the High Order. All Skyborne can be Warrior, Hunter, Rogue or Druid (with sky-blue druid forms); Horde Skyborne also get Shaman, Alliance Skyborne also get Mage. The other new combos — Forsaken Paladin and Dwarf Shaman — need no pack.
Does buying a pack include game time?
Only the Epic Pack and the Collection do, and only 30 days counted from November 4. The Heroic Pack includes no game time, so a €29.99 Heroic purchase on its own does not let you play at launch — you still need an active subscription. Plan the sub first, the pack second.
If you would rather skip the grind than pay for a pack, PewPewShop takes WoW: Forever pre-orders until November 4: full 1–60 leveling from EUR 137.2 (our boosters quote 2–3 weeks at launch), Dalaran dungeon runs from EUR 16, and Barrow Deeps raid clears from EUR 35 once raids unlock on December 9. Vetted human players only, Self-Play or Piloted, no bots.
