Can you play WoW Midnight with an Xbox controller?

Yes, on PC or Mac. Blizzard added native gamepad support to the retail client back in Shadowlands, and it has been refined since. Pair or plug in your Xbox controller, open the game's settings, and enable the gamepad option; the game maps movement, camera and a set of action bindings for you. Most people who go this route install ConsolePort, a free addon that turns the whole UI into something that feels like a console game: radial menus, targeting on the sticks, and action bars laid out for a pad.

Be honest with yourself about what you are playing, though. Questing, delves and open-world content are comfortable on a controller. High-key Mythic+ and Mythic raiding still favour keyboard and mouse because of how many abilities, targets and interrupts you juggle per second.

Will World of Warcraft ever come to Xbox?

Nothing has been released, and Blizzard has not shipped a console client for WoW in the game's 20-plus-year history.
