Is it too late to start Midnight now?

No. Late in an expansion is the friendliest time to arrive. Catch-up systems — upgraded world content rewards, crest income, weekly chests and a shortened path to the current season's baseline item level — are designed to close the gap between a fresh character and a raider who has been grinding since launch.

The practical route: finish the Midnight campaign for the story and the gear it hands you, then run current-season world content and dungeons until you hit the item level that lets you queue into group content without getting declined.

What should I do first after logging in?

Campaign first, gear second. The main Midnight questline unlocks systems, flight, hubs and reputations you will otherwise be locked out of, and it drops enough gear to make the next step painless. Only after that does farming Mythic+ or the current raid make sense — otherwise you are farming content that will replace your gear anyway.

When is the next WoW expansion after Midnight?

The Last Titan closes the Worldsoul Saga. Blizzard announced it alongside The War Within and Midnight, but treat any specific date you see as a guess unless it comes from an official announcement.
