World quests don't all flip at once. Each one runs its own countdown — most last from a few hours up to three days — and new quests seed in continuously as old ones expire. The fixed daily reset, which rolls dailies, caches and quest-locked rewards, lands at 8:00 AM server time in North America (15:00 UTC) and early morning server time in Europe; the weekly reset falls on Tuesday in NA and Wednesday in EU.

The quick version

  • No single "world quest reset time" exists. The pool refreshes in a rolling way, hour by hour.
  • Individual timers: hover any world quest icon on the map — the tooltip shows exactly how long it has left.
  • Typical durations: short combat and PvP objectives run a few hours; standard quests commonly sit around a day; some rare, profession and dungeon-tied ones stretch to roughly three days.
  • Daily reset (NA): 8:00 AM Pacific = 15:00 UTC while the US is on daylight time, 16:00 UTC in winter.
  • Daily reset (EU): early morning server time (CET/CEST). Your in-game clock set to server time is the only authority that never drifts.
  • Weekly reset: Tuesday morning for NA realms, Wednesday morning for EU realms, at the same hour as the daily reset.

Do all world quests refresh at the daily reset?

No — but reset is still the biggest visible refresh of the day. Plenty of quests happen to be seeded on the same schedule, so logging in shortly after reset usually shows a fresh-looking map. Check again six hours later and you'll find a partly different set, because the ones that expired were replaced individually.

What genuinely is tied to the daily reset is the surrounding daily content: quest-gated turn-ins, per-day reward caps and anything the game flags as "once per day."

How do I see the exact timer on a specific world quest?

Open your map, hover the quest icon, and read the tooltip — it lists time remaining alongside the reward. The world quest list panel on the zone map does the same for every active quest at once, and it's sortable, which makes it far faster than clicking icons one by one when you're chasing a specific reward.

If a quest you wanted is already gone, it's gone. There's no way to extend or re-roll it; wait for the same objective to cycle back into the pool.

Why does a world quest vanish while I'm halfway through it?

Because the timer expired mid-objective. Progress on an expired world quest isn't banked — the quest simply drops out of your log. This is the main reason to check remaining time before you fly across a continent for one. Anything under about fifteen minutes is a gamble unless you're already standing in the zone.

Does the weekly reset change my world quests too?

Partly. Weekly reset clears the bigger weekly objectives — Great Vault slots, weekly quest lockouts, capped currencies — and those often route you back through world quests to complete them. The world quest pool itself keeps rolling on its own timers straight through the weekly reset.
