Keystone Hero: Ara-Kara, City of Echoes is awarded for finishing Ara-Kara on Mythic Keystone level 10 or higher inside the 30-minute timer. It is account-wide, and the reward is a teleport spell that puts you at the dungeon entrance in Azj-Kahet, so you never have to fly across Khaz Algar again when a key for that dungeon pops up.

Steps to get it

  1. Reach Keystone level 10 through your own keys, or join a group running an Ara-Kara +10 (or any higher level — a timed +11 or +12 counts).
  2. Beat the 30-minute timer. Deaths matter: each one costs 15 seconds in The War Within ruleset, and overtime runs still give loot and score, but not this achievement.
  3. The moment the final chest spawns on a timed +10, the achievement fires for the whole account and the teleport appears in your spellbook under General.

Why can't I earn it right now?

Keystone Hero achievements are only obtainable while the dungeon sits in the current Mythic+ rotation. Ara-Kara was in the pool during The War Within Season 1 and came back in Season 3. Between rotations the dungeon is still there on Mythic 0, but Mythic 0 clears do not award Keystone Hero. If you are reading this in a season where Ara-Kara is not listed among the active eight dungeons, the achievement is parked until it rotates back — check the in-game keystone list rather than assuming.

What about Keystone Master vs Keystone Hero?

They are different things. Keystone Master is the seasonal score achievement (2000 Mythic+ rating in the current system) that rewards the season's mount. Keystone Hero: Ara-Kara is a per-dungeon achievement tied to one timed +10. You can hold every Keystone Hero teleport and still not have Keystone Master, and vice versa. Most players end up chasing both at the same time, since running +10s in every dungeon is how the score gets there.

How hard is a +10 in Ara-Kara?

Of the War Within dungeons, Ara-Kara is usually treated as one of the more forgiving keys to time. The layout is short, the route is nearly linear, and there is no skip that punishes a group for missing it. The two places pugs lose the timer are the Anub'zekt fight, where the burrow and swarm phases need consistent interrupts and stuns, and the spider-infested gauntlet before Ki'katal, where poor pull sizing bleeds minutes. A group with roughly current-season heroic-raid-level gear and working interrupts should time it with a few minutes spare.

Does the teleport work for other characters?

Yes. The achievement is account-wide, so every character on the same account gets the teleport once one of them earns it. Alts still need the appropriate expansion and to be able to enter Khaz Algar zones, but they do not need to time their own +10.
