Mythic Plus (M+) is World of Warcraft's timed, infinitely scaling 5-player dungeon mode. You slot a Mythic Keystone into the pedestal at a dungeon entrance and race a clock with four other players. Every key level adds enemy health and damage plus extra modifiers, and beating the timer upgrades your keystone and improves both your end-of-run loot and your weekly Great Vault rewards.
Mythic Plus at a glance
- Group size: 5 players — one tank, one healer, three damage dealers.
- What starts a run: a Mythic Keystone item, placed in the font/pedestal at the dungeon entrance. One person's key is used per run.
- How to get your first key: clear any dungeon on regular Mythic difficulty. After that, your key comes from the weekly chest and from finishing runs.
- The clock: each dungeon has its own par time. Finish under it and the run counts as "timed"; go over and you still get loot, just less of it and a lower key next time.
- Scaling: difficulty is not capped. +2, +5, +10, +15 and beyond all use the same dungeon with harder numbers.
- Affixes: rotating weekly modifiers that change how packs behave. More of them apply as key level climbs.
- Loot: a chance at gear at the end of the run, plus a Great Vault slot each week once you have completed enough dungeons.
- Score: every timed run feeds a rating (commonly tracked as Raider.IO score) that groups use to invite you.
How a Mythic Plus run actually works
- Form or join a group of five in the Group Finder's premade listings.
- Walk to the dungeon entrance and put a keystone in the pedestal to start the timer.
- Kill bosses and enough trash to fill the enemy forces bar — trash percentage is mandatory, not optional.
- Down the final boss before the timer expires to time the key.
- Your keystone upgrades for the next run; the size of the jump depends on how far under time you finished.
What does the "+" number mean?
It is the key level, and it is a pure difficulty multiplier. A +7 of a dungeon is the same map and the same bosses as a +2 — the enemies simply hit harder, have more health, and carry more affixes. Higher levels also mean better item level on the gear that drops and in your weekly Vault.
What are affixes?
Affixes are weekly modifiers layered onto every key that week: they can make trash explode, empower certain packs, or add a hazard you have to play around. They rotate on a weekly schedule, so the same dungeon feels different from one week to the next. Because the affix set changes, a route that worked last week may need adjusting.
Is Mythic Plus harder than raiding?
Different, not strictly harder. Raiding is scripted — you learn a fight and repeat it with 10 to 20 people. M+ is five people improvising: interrupts, crowd control, routing and cooldown timing matter far more, and there is no room to carry a passenger. Many players find low keys easier than raid Heroic, and high keys harder than raid Mythic for their group size.
Where do I start if I have never done one?
Get your first key from a regular Mythic dungeon, then run a +2 with friends or a low-requirement Group Finder listing. Learn one dungeon well rather than sampling all of them. Once you have a small score, invites come much faster — the early climb is the awkward part, because groups filter on a rating you do not have yet.
What is a Raider.IO score?
It is a third-party rating built from your timed runs across the season's dungeon pool, and it is what most group leaders check before inviting you. Higher score means better keys, better dungeon knowledge and — practically speaking — faster invites.
If you would rather learn the routes and pull timings alongside someone who already runs high keys, PewPewShop's vetted human players offer Mythic Plus help and coaching — runs from EUR 11.99, rating help from EUR 45, and weekly Vault packages from EUR 55. No bots, no cheats, just players who know the pulls.
