Keystone Hero: Vault of the Wardens is the per-dungeon Mythic+ achievement for timing Vault of the Wardens at Mythic+10 or higher — finishing inside the dungeon timer, not just completing the run. Vault of the Wardens is the Legion dungeon in Azsuna, the Wardens prison where Illidan's body was kept. Like every Keystone Hero achievement, it is only earnable while that dungeon sits in the active season's Mythic+ pool.

Quick facts

  • Requirement: one timed run at Mythic+10 or above. A higher key counts too — +12, +15, whatever you time.
  • Timed means timed. Finishing over the par time (a depleted key) does not award it, no matter how clean the run was.
  • Affixes do not matter. Any week, any affix set, any five-player group.
  • Account-wide. Time it on one character and the achievement is yours.
  • No title attached. Per-dungeon Keystone Hero achievements are collection credit; the seasonal titles come from the rating ladder instead.
  • Where the dungeon is: Azsuna, Broken Isles. Bosses include Tirathon Saltheril, Inquisitor Tormentorum, Ash'golm, Glazer and Cordana Felsong.

Why does it say +10 when older guides say +15 or +20?

Because the number moved, not the difficulty. Keystone Hero achievements originally asked for a timed +15 in the Battle for Azeroth and Shadowlands era, then a timed +20 in Dragonflight. The War Within squished keystone levels, so the old +20 bracket became the new +10 — and the achievement text was rewritten to match.

If you are reading an old guide that says +15, it is describing the same wall of difficulty under a different label. Trust the in-game achievement tooltip over any article, including this one.

Is Vault of the Wardens actually in the Mythic+ rotation right now?

Check in game before you plan around it. The Mythic+ pool is rebuilt every season, and Blizzard has repeatedly pulled older Legion dungeons back into rotation, so a dungeon that was unavailable last patch can be front and centre this one.

The fastest check: open the Group Finder, look at the Mythic+ dungeon list for the current season, or inspect any keystone and read its dungeon dropdown. If Vault of the Wardens is not on that list, the achievement is on hold until it rotates back — it does not disappear from your account.

How do I get a Vault of the Wardens key specifically?

You cannot choose your own keystone's dungeon. Your key rerolls to a different dungeon each time you complete a run, and the weekly chest hands you a fresh one. So the practical route is: push your own key up through timed runs to raise its level, then join or form a group for someone else's Vault of the Wardens key at +10 or higher.

Listing yourself in the Group Finder for that dungeon at the level you want is usually faster than waiting for the roll to land on you.

Does it count toward Keystone Master?

Indirectly. Per-dungeon Keystone Hero achievements and the seasonal rating achievements are separate tracks — the seasonal ones are pure score thresholds, running through Keystone Master at 2000 rating up to Keystone Legend at 3000. But every timed +10 you bank feeds the score that gets you there, so chasing Keystone Hero in each dungeon is one of the cleaner ways to climb.
